As a reminder for our CC parents, this Friday runners will compete in their first meet of the season. Students will need to be at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington by 3:00pm to stretch and walk the course with Coach O’Neill. Transportation is NOT provided by the school – parents must make accommodations to get runners from Saint James School to the race.
Runner families are encouraged to “subscribe” to the Cross Country Calendar (if they do not already have it linked from last year) HERE. The online calendar provides race locations and other information regarding each meet.

3:00-3:40pm – Check in and Course Walk
3:45pm – 5th & 6th Grade Boys Race
4:00pm – 5th & 6th Grade Girls Race
4:15pm – 7th Grade Boys Race
4:35pm – 7th Grade Girls Race
4:55pm – 8th Grade Boys Race
5:15pm – 8th Grade Girls Race
Course: The event will take place at YMCAs Camp Sloper in Southington, Connecticut. The address is 1000 East St, Southington, CT 06489. Please note, there is a $5.00 fee for parking. The 5th/6th grade races are 1.25 miles, the 7th grade races are 1.5 miles, and the 8th grade 2.0 miles.
Monday’s meet will be at Illing Middle School in Manchester. Please ensure your child has transportation from Saint James to Illing (arrival time of 3:30pm, meet starts at 4:00pm).

Book Fair: eWallet & Volunteers

This is a convenient option that avoids children having to carry money to school and assists our volunteers greatly during checkout. We strongly encourage you to sign up for eWallet by following this link.

6th Grade STREAM
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolToday during during their STEM/STREAM class, 6th grade students worked in small groups to plan and construct a tower from dried spaghetti, tape, and string. In addition to standing on its own, the tower also had to be sturdy enough to hold a large Marshmallow on top without collapsing under the weight.
Scholastic Book Fair Next Week
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolOur Scholastic Book Fair will be held at Saint James School all next week!!! All students will have an opportunity to visit the book fair with their class. Younger students (preK-5th) will first make a “Wish List” and then they will then have a secondary opportunity to visit the fair to purchase the items on their wish list. Middle school students (6th-8th) can visit the fair to make purchases on Wednesday.

Parents can also shop after school on Monday 9/23 from 2:10pm – 2:30pm and/or at the “Meet The Teachers” nights on Monday 9/23 for Grades 6-8 (6-6:30pm & 8-8:30pm only — the fair will be closed from 6:30-8pm) and Wednesday 9/25 for Grades PreK-5 (6-7:30pm).
Our book fair is available online from 9/15 to 9/28 by visiting our book fair website (found here). All books ordered online will be shipped directly to your home and any book-only orders of $25 or more will ship for free. Please do keep in mind that online orders earn 25% profit for the school, not the same 50% as purchases made in-person at our fair.
Journalism Club: Parent Volunteer Needed

This will be open for 15 middle school students, information and details coming soon. We have a coordinator, we just need an assistant. The club will meet on Thursday afternoons. Pre-K4 Fall Fun
