Saint James To Host Social Media Awareness Program

On Wednesday, November 7th, Saint James School will host a social media awareness program for students in grades 5 – 8.  On hand to speak will be representatives from the CT State Troopers Computer Crimes and Electronic Evidence unit.  The presentation will run from 12:45pm – 1:45pm.

All Saint James School parents are also invited to attend this presentation.  Please be sure to look for the notice with additional details coming home via the children’s school folders in the next few days.

Box Tops Submissions For Dress Down Day

If you plan to submit Box Tops for the October class dress down contest, please have them in by the end of the school day on Monday (10/29).  Box Tops will be tallied at the end of  the school day on Monday.

Reminder: SJS Halloween Party This Weekend!

Just a reminder that the annual Saint James School Halloween Party will be held this coming Saturday from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the school gym.  All Saint James School students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 are invited! (Parents/guardians must remain at this event with their child).

If you have not already RSVP’d, it’s not too late!  Please send the Halloween Party Invitation in to the school office as soon as possible!

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday for a spook-tacular good time!

Cross Country Challenge

Congratulations and thank you to the 39 Saint James School students in grades K-5 (and their families) who came out on Saturday for the Frank Rizza Manchester Elementary School Cross Country Challenge.  It was a beautiful fall day and our students did a wonderful job representing our school!

Special honors went to Jack Randolph for coming in 1st place in the Kindergarten Boys Race, Nicholas Guenther for placing 2nd in the Boys 2nd-3rd Grade division, and Lindsay O’Neill taking 6th in the Girls 2nd – 3rd Grade division.

We look forward to participating again in this fun, town-wide event next year!

 

Basketball Tryouts

There will be basketball tryouts again this week for students in grades  7 & 8 wishing to play basketball for SJS.

 

Tuesday 10/23: Girls in grades 7 & 8 – 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Tuesday 10/23: Boys in grades 7 & 8 – 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Wednesday 10/24: Girls in grades 7 & 8 – 5:30 – 7:30 (tryouts and clinic)

Grades K-5: Come Run With Saint James School…

Tomorrow is the annual Frank Rizza Elementary School Cross Country challenge for the town of Manchester.  We currently have 31 Saint James students from grades K-5 signed up to run…will you join us?

If you have not already turned in your registration/permission slip, don’t worry…just print out a copy of the one below and bring it with you tomorrow morning.

Virtus Training Tomorrow Night At SJS

Just a reminder that Saint James School is hosting a Virtus training session tomorrow night at the school (6:30pm) for all parents interested in volunteering at SJS (including class parties and field trips).

If you have not already completed a Virtus training, this is a great opportunity to do so.  You only need to complete this training once during your tenure at SJS.  Please call the school office if you plan to attend tomorrow night.
