Manchester Catholic Basketball Fun

Last night we enjoyed a wonderful community event as the Saint James boys & girls varsity basketball teams played sister school Saint Bridget at East Catholic High School.  Thank you to all the families that came out for one or both games - we had a packed cheering section!

Congratulations Penmanship Winners!

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Saint James School Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest (for Kindergarten – 5th grade). The 1st place winners will now be submitted to the State level.

5th Grade Hands-On Learning

Our fifth graders have enjoyed some great projects over the last couple of months as they learned about Native American long houses, the circulatory system, and the Rain Forest.  Also, a few pictures from a classroom engineering challenge. Nice work Sabers!

Snow Much Fun in Pre-K4

Ski & Snowboard Club Pics

The SJS Ski & Snowboard Club had a great first trip of the season on Friday night!! We have over 70 SJS students from grades 3 - 8 participating this year and around 20 parents that are assisting by hitting the slopes or hanging out in the lodge.

Merry Christmas

Today our Kindergarten students joined us at Mass for the first time (great job 5th graders as their buddies!!) and we had an extra special guest visit us today!  Merry Christmas!

2nd Grade Gingerbread Houses

Yesterday our 2nd graders participated in the much-loved, long-standing tradition of making gingerbread houses to bring home for Christmas. They also learned about the history of gingerbread and made a "blueprint" of their house before they started building. Great job Sabers!!

SJS Theatre Club Performance

2023 Tree of Blessings

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2023 Saint James School Tree of Blessings. This morning, immediately following our 3rd week of Advent prayer service, members of the 8th grade class led the ceremony to honor and pray for the individuals listed on each ornament.

Varsity Home Openers

Last night our varsity boys and girls basketball teams played their first game of the season at our home gym.  The boys defeated Emmanuel Christian School while the girls lost to St. Timothy.  Both teams looked strong last night; we are excited for a great season!

Christmas Art

Dress Down for CCMC

Thank you to everyone who participated in our $1.00+ PJ/Comfy Clothes dress down today!  Together we raised over $900 for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Great job Sabers!

Celebrating St. Nicholas' Feast Day

In keeping with tradition, our Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students left one shoe outside their classroom this morning in celebration of St. Nicholas Day (Feast Day of St. Nicholas).  More commonly observed in Northern Europe, St. Nicholas Day

Thanksgiving Prayer Service

This morning our students each wrote one thing they were thankful for and placed it in a basket at the start of today's prayer service.  During the ceremony, Father Jaime offered our "thankful thoughts" to God as a symbol of our appreciation for His love and guidance.

5th Grade Turkeys

Grade 3 Reading Café

This morning, third grade students were surprised (and excited!) find their classrooms transformed into “Reading Cafés” – each with a crackling fire (on the viewboard), decorated tables, and their teacher dressed as a maître d’. This special lesson was to teach the 3rd graders about different genres of books and to encourage them to broaden their reading horizons....
