
Grade 7 Science Fair
Congratulations to our 7th grade students for hosting a wonderful Science Fair yesterday! Students spent the entire morning presenting their research to the SJS faculty and staff, their younger and older peers, and several judges from the scientific community. Field Trip to Kindergarten
Today our Pre-K4 students visited the big school Kindergarten classrooms and enjoyed some time in the Innovation Lab with Mrs. Poth. The innovation lab, where students explore coding, engineering, and other STEM-related topics, is one of the weekly specials students at SJS enjoy beginning in Kindergarten.

Ski Club Fun
Our Ski & Snowboard Club enjoyed their first outing of the season at Mount Southington Ski Area on Friday afternoon. We have 67 students and approximately 18-20 parents (depending on the week) participating this year! Thank you to the parents who sent in these pics for us to share.

Thanksgiving Mass
Today our 1st through 8th graders celebrated Mass with Father Matt in preparation for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Thank you to our 7th graders for hosting, our choir for sharing their beautiful voices, and to all our older students who served as “buddies” to the younger grades. It is always beautiful to witness our community coming together in prayer to thank God for his many blessings.

Grade 3 Reading Café
This morning, third grade students were surprised (and excited!) find their classrooms transformed into “Reading Cafés” – each with a roaring fireplace (on the viewboard), decorated tables, and their teacher dressed as a maître d’. This special lesson was to teach the 3rd graders about different genres of books and to encourage them to broaden their reading horizons.

Cross Country Banquet
Today we celebrated the end of another successful Cross Country season with a special luncheon for our runners and coaches. A HUGE Thank You to Mr. Miller for taking on the head coach role this year and making it such a fun season!

Veterans Day Celebration

2024 Fire Safety & Prevention
Today our younger students met some real-life heroes as members of the Manchester Fire Department joined us to speak about fire safety. In keeping with tradition, all of our Pre-K students - and several older students - also had the opportunity to try out the fire hose (a few are pictured below).

7th Graders Design Circuits
Yesterday during their STREAM class, SJS 7th grade students enjoyed a special lesson on electricity and circuits, drew diagrams, and built their own circuits with light bulbs, motors, and switches. Great job Sabers!

Honoring 9/11
On Wednesday, Sept 11th, 1st – 8th grade students came together to pray the Rosary and honor the countless families whose lives were indelibly changed on this day 23 years ago. Pre-K and Kindergarten classes visited the SJS 9/11 memorial garden where they said a special prayer.
