Morning Dropoff

Mrs. Kanute would like to remind parents if you are dropping off on Otis Street, you need to park on the side of the road and let your child out on the sidewalk.  If they are younger, please walk with them to the crosswalk and help them cross safely.  This morning parents were double parking and students were getting out into the road, causing a very unsafe situation.  Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Notice About School Roof

Last week Mrs. Kanute sent home a letter concerning areas of our school building that have experienced leaks as the snow and ice on the roofs began to melt.  As noted in Mrs. Kanute’s letter, a second air quality test was being performed to ensure that the air quality upstairs continues to be safe for our students and faculty.

The results from the independent test showed all samples collected to be at levels that are “safe for normal use and occupancy.”  Mold counts inside the building were significantly lower than those outside. A copy of the report is attached below should you wish to read it.

On Time Arrival & Detentions

Mrs. Kanute would like to again remind parents of the importance of getting your child(ren) to school on time each morning.  There are still an excessive number of late arrivals and Mrs. Kanute has noticed the same children arriving late on a regular basis.  Beginning on Monday (March 2nd), these students will begin receiving detention for their tardy arrival to school.  Mrs. Kanute has been informing students of this so they should be aware.

Late arrivals are disruptive to the teacher, morning announcements, and the classroom routine.   If you find yourself not making it to school between 7:30am and 7:45am, Mrs. Kanute asks that you please take a few moments today to talk to your child about the importance of being punctual and help them readjust their morning schedule accordingly.

Thank you in advance for your help and support.
