‘Tis the season to begin planning our 2019 Christmas Store, where our students can shop for special gifts to give to their family and pets on Christmas morning.
We are in need of numerous parent volunteers to help with set-up on the evening of December 10th as well as throughout the school day on Wednesday, December 11th to help our students with shopping and the check-out process.
If you are able to help, please reach out to our event chair, parent volunteer Megan Hunt, at meganhunt727@gmail.com (must have completed our background check and VIRTUS training to volunteer during the school day).
For any SJS Ski Club families that have unused passes from last year, please see the attached info from Mount Southington:
As a reminder, Saint James School is in session this coming Monday, Veterans’ Day. However, NO HOT LUNCH OR MILK will be served on Monday so all students will need a lunch from home.
This week Catholic schools across the area have been celebrating Discover Catholic Schools in New England week, a time to encourage and inspire people to learn more about their local Catholic schools.
As such, we have been capturing footage of our students in various classes, to give prospective families a glimpse of what it’s like to be a Saint James School Student in today’s day and age. We hope you enjoy our short compilation (including some great new aerial footage at the end).
We have also posted the video on our FACEBOOK PAGE and website and hope that you will share it with your Facebook family and friends.
This Sunday, November 10th at 9:00am, Saint James School will host our monthly Children’s Mass with SJS students serving as readers, ushers, and gift bearers. Our school choir will also be performing and Coffee, Juice & Donuts will be served in the church hall (downstairs) immediately following Mass.
All Saint James School students and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend in a show of support for our school!
Saint James School students are encouraged to wear their school uniforms (all students serving in any capacity must wear their SJS uniform). This is a great way for the Saint James Church parishioners (many of whom very generously support our school) to see the exceptional students they are investing in.
All Saint James School families are welcome regardless of faith or home church.
For families that have guests attending the Veterans’ Day Ceremony on Monday, please let them know the gymnasium doors will open at 8:45am and the event will begin at 9:00am. We are looking forward to welcoming and honoring our special guests!
As a reminder, Saint James School will have early dismissal (12:05pm) on Tuesday, November 19th and Wednesday, November 27th. Aftercare will be in session on both days but students will need to bring a lunch from home. There is no school on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th for Thanksgiving Recess.
Today for their STEM/STREAM enrichment time, Mrs. Gangloff’s kindergarten students had to work in teams to build a Thanksgiving table that would hold all the food. Nice job Sabers!
