The Saint James School 7th grade Science Fair will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 23rd from 9:00am – 11:30am. Parents and grandparents are welcome to stop by to see the projects and speak with the students (enter through the gym).
Participants should bring in their projects to the gym between 7:15am – 7:30am to begin setting up. Parents may return to the school between 12:45pm – 1:30pm to take home the projects and related items (if a parent cannot come back to get items, they will be stored).
Volunteers play a critical role here at Saint James School. Volunteers run many of our fundraising events, social events, and classroom parties. In addition, our sports coaches are all volunteers, many of our after-school activities are run by volunteers, our Saint James School board (and related committees) are all volunteers, along with the Saint James School Foundation members.
Volunteers provide countless hours tutoring students and helping with marketing-related duties. In short, volunteers play a very important role here at Saint James School!!
As such, one of our important activities during Catholic Schools Week is to show our appreciation to our volunteers for their “Service” to Saint James School. This will be done with a special prayer for volunteers during our 9:15am Mass on Wednesday, January 30th, followed by a special reception in the lower church immediately following Mass.
Please join us so that all the students of Saint James School can see the faces of the dedicated parents and family members who donate their time and talents to helping making Saint James School such a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.
The below form was sent home with students last week. If you will be attending the Mass and Reception, please return the form to the office by January 24th.
We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week at the end of January. One thing we like to do at Saint James is to help give back to the community and those who are less fortunate than us. This month we will be collecting items for MACC. If you are able to help please send in the item listed below for your child’s class by Monday, January 28th:
Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten – Toilet paper

3rd & 4th Grade – Toothbrushes/Toothpaste/Dental floss
5th Grade – Deodorant
6th Grade – Laundry Detergent
7th Grade – Shampoo/Conditioner
8th Grade – Soap
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Sincerely,
The Catholic Schools Week Committee
Paint night, scheduled for 1/25, is being cancelled due to an illness in the artist’s family. If you are registered and paid, your money will be sent back to you next week. We are hoping to reschedule the event for another time.
At the end of January, Saint James School will have our annual Blue & Gold dress down (as we celebrate Catholic School’s Week). As such, we are reopening the SJS Spiritwear fundraiser and anticipate delivery prior to the spirit day. We have also added two items for our cheerleaders. Please place your order using the link below by the end of the day this coming Sunday, January 20th.
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Poth is starting an after school STEM Club for SJS students! The first club will be held on Monday, January 28 from 2:15-3:15pm. In this session, students will practice coding skills using Dash and Dot robots. This session is open to 3rd and 4th graders only and is limited to 12 students. Please reserve your spot by following this link. There is a $10 fee for participation that must be sent in to the office the day after you register online.
