Reminder Regarding Phones, Video Games, Smart Watches at School

As a reminder, Saint James School does not permit use of any personal electronic devices at school.  This includes “smart” watches such as those from Apple and Fitbit, iPods, phones, etc.  We wish to strongly encourage that all personal electronic devices be kept at home.  If, however, your student needs a cell phone to communicate with you after school hours, it must remain OFF and in their backpack until they have left the school.  Additionally, Saint James School is not responsible for damaged or lost devices.  Thank you for your corporation and reinforcing our school policy regarding electronic devices with your child/ren.

Consider Donating 1st Communion Items to our Uniform Closet

Do you ever look in your child’s closet and wonder what you should do with your daughter’s old 1st communion dress and shoes or your son’s suit? Well…. We are excited to announce that we are opening up a new section of the SJS Uniform Closet for 1st communion attire and we are now accepting donations! Most of these outfits end the day still being like new, and we love the idea of sharing them!

Given the importance of this day, please be sure to carefully look over your dress before donation to ensure that it is free from stains and/or rips. Thank you all so much, we are excited to add this to our closet!

Save the Date: St. James Foundation Golf Outing

Please save the date for the 25th Annual Saint James School Foundation Golf Classic & Dinner which will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at Manchester Country Club.

The Saint James School Foundation is a privately run endowment fund providing over $100,000 each year to Saint James School in support of our financial aid program, ongoing technology upgrades, and our school’s Margin of Excellence programs. Last year, the foundation donated over $150,000 to Saint James School!  Each year, the Foundation holds a golf tournament and dinner in support of their mission.

This annual event is a lot of fun with a great mixture of current SJS parents, former SJS parents, and SJS alumni.  You can sign up as a foursome, a single, or just come for the dinner!  Sponsorship and registration information can be found HERE.

A Thank You From MACC

Middle School Dance Volunteers Needed

Saint James is hosting the 2nd middle school dance of the year on Friday, March 1.  Many volunteers are needed to help organize, run and chaperone the dance.  Without enough volunteers, we will not be able to run the dance.  If you are able to help out, please contact Joanna Kamis at brownlab@msn.com. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Munson’s Chocolates Fundraiser and Clarification

Easter will be here before we know it!  There is no need to hop to the store to get your Easter candy because the HSA is sponsoring a Munson’s Chocolates fundraiser!  This week all families should receive a Munson’s Order Form and a Munson’s Tally Form for the fundraiser. The Tally Form is where you will write down only the final total of each product sold, along with the final amount due.  If you do not receive the forms or have questions, please contact parent volunteer Megan Hunt at meganhunt727@gmail.com.  Tally forms and payments are due to the school office by Friday, March 1st.  Please make checks payable to Saint James School and remember to write your child’s name & grade on ALL forms and checks.  If possible, please submit just one check per order form as this greatly helps the volunteers who tally the orders for submission.  Orders will arrive in plenty of time for Easter and an e-mail will be sent in March notifying parents of the pickup date(s).  Please note that Easter candy CAN be ordered as our school order will not be submitted until March.
