Early Dismissal This Week & Clubs

As a reminder this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are 12:05pm Dismissal Days.

Aftercare will be in session all three days – students going to aftercare or an after-school activity will need a lunch from home (no hot lunch is provided on early dismissal days).

Please note that there is NO Math Club, NO Choir, and NO Newspaper club tomorrow (Wednesday) after school.

Yesterday’s STEM Club

Kindergarten Pumpkins

Today during Library, Mrs. Vassallo’s Kindergarten class listened to Scardey-Cat Splat and Five Little Pumpkins, then colored their own pumpkins to bring home.

Conference Signups are CLOSED

Please note, parent/teacher signups are now closed.  No additional changes should be made to the online system.  Teachers have already printed the schedules and are looking forward to seeing you at the time you signed up for. You should receive an email confirmation/reminder 2 days before your conference.

Chess Club Starts Tomorrow

As a reminder, students that signed up and paid for the Chess Club program, the clinic begins tomorrow after school and runs until 3:15pm.  Pick-up for students will be outside the breezeway (please DO NOT buzz in to the school).

SJS Students Perform with Eastern Regional Band

Congratulations to all the SJS instrumental music students who performed as part of the Future Musicians Eastern Regional Band Concert, held right here at Saint James School on Saturday! The Eastern Regional Band program brings together talented music students from Catholic schools all throughout the region to perform under the leadership of SJS instrumental music instructor, Mr. Corcoran. Great job Sabers!

 

Congratulations SJS Cross Country

Congratulations to our Cross Country runners on a great performance at the McGee Invitational (held at Sage Park in Berlin) this past Saturday!  Eighth grader Sarah Christina came in 8th out of 75 runners in her race with Evan Ansaldi placing 18/111 runners (followed in 32nd place by brother Erik) in the 8th grade boys race.

In the 7th grade race, Maya Fisher placed 9th out of 84 runners for the girls and Alex Bulger came in 24th out of 84 runners for the boys with Jackson Heslin in 50th.  Cora Tierney, although a 5th grader, ran in the 6th grade girls category and came in 31st out of 81 runners.  Jameson Fisher, also a 5th grader, came in 12th in the boys 6th grade race with 6th grader Stefan Poth also finishing the race strong.

Great running Sabers!!

Coach O’Neill has spoken to the runners who will be going on to compete in the state championships.  Those runners will be practicing Tuesday and Thursday after school this week.

All other runners should return their washed uniform in a plastic bag – labeled with their name – to the main office.

Szopka Club Schedule For This Week

The Szopka Club classroom will be open next week for the following days and times.

Members may work on their Szopka during any or all of the times.

Mon & Tue until 3:30pm.
Wed after school (12:05pm) until 2:30pm – bring lunch from home
Thu after school (12:05pm) until 2:15 – bring lunch from home

Basketball Player/Parent Meetings & Open Gyms Tonight

For everyone that signed up to play Basketball this year (grades 4-8) Parent/Player meetings are this evening:

Girls:

Player/Parent Meeting in the cafeteria: 6:00pm – 6:45pm

Immediately following (6:45pm-8:15pm) will be an OPEN GYM for all fully registered players in grades 4-8

Boys:

Player/Parent Meeting in the cafeteria: 7:00pm – 8:00pm

Open Gym for grade 7&8 boys only: 5:00pm – 6:45pm

 

As a reminder, Open Gym is time for players to work on skills, interact with coaches, and enjoy free shooting before team assignments are made.
