The January sessions of STEM club are full for both Grades 1 & 2 and Grades 3 & 4.  You will be receiving a note home shortly letting you know whether or not your child will be able to attend.  Thank you!

 

On Tuesday, January 7th, Scot Haney from Channel 3 and a camera crew from the show “Better Connecticut” will be at Saint James School to tape a segment highlighting our school to air in late January!  We are very excited to have this opportunity to showcase all the wonderful and unique things about SJS to a wider audience.

Footage taken during the January 7th visit will also be used to produce television commercials that will air on Channel 3 and possibly select cable stations and online advertising as we promote our January 26th Prospective Family Open House and other Fall 2020 enrollment events.

If you do not want your child to be in any of the video footage taken, please complete THIS FORM and we will ensure they are not in any classrooms or areas where filming is occurring (please note, student names will NOT be used unless we specifically ask your permission).  Anyone that indicated “NO PHOTOS” for their child/ren on our school’s standard Photo Permissions form (completed when you registered for this school year) will automatically be excluded from the video footage.  Please reach out to our Advancement Director, Amy Guenther, at aguenther@saintjamesschool.net, with any questions.

Mr. Corcoran would like to remind parents that students in 4th & 5th grade will have instrumental music on this Thursday (January 2nd) when we return from break.

 

As the calendar year draws to a close, we wish to extend a special Thank You to all the members of the Saint James community who have generously supported our 2019 Annual Fund Campaign! To date, we have raised $37,802 thanks to strong participation from our SJS parents, grandparents, alumni, parishioners, and other friends of the school.

As previously noted, this year’s donations are helping offset the substantial cost of replacing the roof on the school’s Pre-Kindergarten building, (pictured), which is over 50 years old!

Annual fund donations, which come directly to our school, have helped us make many critical improvements in recent years such as bright, energy-efficient windows in the majority of our school and new energy-efficient roofs over our classrooms, breezeway, gymnasium/cafeteria wing, and now the Pre-Kindergarten roof this coming summer. The impact of these improvements on our school facility has been significant and we thank you for your support.
