Please note that the Boys and Girls Varsity basketball games that were scheduled for this evening have been postponed.
Christmas Concert Wednesday
Just a reminder that the annual SJS Christmas Concert will be held on December 14th featuring the Saint James School bands as well as performances by our 1st and 4th grade students.
A daytime concert will be held in the morning for students and staff (students wear regular school uniform attire for the daytime performance). The evening concert will begin at 6:30pm and is for parents and friends of the school. All performers are expected to attend.
Performer Arrival Times & Attire for Evening Show
Band:
Band students should arrive at the school cafeteria between 6:00pm-6:15pm. Evening concert attire for band students is a white dress shirt and black dress pants (or black skirt for girls – skirts must be knee length or longer). Red bow ties and cummerbunds will be provided for the students to wear when they arrive.
4th Grade:
All 4th grade students should arrive at 6:00pm-6:15pm and report to the cafeteria; Attire for the evening performance is “Sunday Best” or “Holiday Best” (band students wear attire for band performers noted above). At the end of the concert teachers will bring students back to the gym for dismissal.
1st Grade:
All 1st grade students should arrive at 6:00pm-6:15pm and report to the cafeteria; Attire for the evening performance is “Sunday Best” or “Holiday Best.” At the end of the concert teachers will bring students back to the gym for dismissal.
Last Call: Drama Club Interest? (Gr. 6-8)
We are excited to announce that one of our parents has volunteered to organize and run a Spring Drama Club production for SJS students in Grades 6-8 this year. To help make this happen for our students, however, we will need 3 additional parent volunteers who can be present at Friday rehearsals to assist with organizing students, running lines, etc.
At the same time, we are looking to gauge interest among our students. Rehearsals would be Friday afternoons starting in January from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. If you think your student(s) might be interested, please speak with them to be sure before filling out this form. (And, please note there will be a participation fee to help cover costs). The actual performance will take place sometime in May.
2nd Grade STEM Club
STEM Club will be held on Monday, December 19 for students in Grade 2. If your child would like to attend, please complete the permission form below.
Instrumental Music Notes
ALL instrumental music students will practice tomorrow (Tuesday). As a reminder, concerts are on Wednesday – please make sure students bring their instruments to school both days.
Last Call: 2022 Tree of Blessings
Saint James School’s 20th Annual Tree of Blessings Ceremony and Prayer Service will take place on Monday, December 19th. Please see the attached flyer for information.

Also, please note: 4th Grade Boys Basketball players will practice tomorrow (Saturday) from 9:00am – 10:00am, 5th Grade Boys from 10:00am – 11:00am. Teams will be formed early next week and game play will begin next Saturday.

Reminder: 12:05 Dismissal and No Aftercare Tomorrow
As a reminder, tomorrow (Friday, December 9th) is a 12:05pm dismissal day and there is NO after-school care that day due to the SJS faculty and staff Christmas party. Please be sure you are on time to pick-up your student on Friday as the event will be taking place offsite so the entire school will be closing at 12:15pm. Thank you.
