Last Call: Yearbook Orders Due Tomorrow

The deadline to order a Saint James School yearbook for the 2021-2022 school year is tomorrow – Friday, March 25th, 2022.

Yearbook order forms were sent home in January.  You may also order your yearbook online at ybpay.lifetouch.com and enter the code: 9708622.

Please note, all Grade 8 students will automatically receive a yearbook at no charge (parents do NOT need to order one for their students).

Last Call: Soccer Sign-ups

If your child will be playing soccer, please ensure the paperwork is in tomorrow.  Late registrations will be placed on a wait list.

The 2022 Saint James School Soccer season will run from mid April through early June and will follow the CIAC Health and Safety Protocol for spring sports.  Students in grades 3 – 8 are eligible to participate in the soccer program and no previous soccer experience is required.

If your child is interested in playing soccer for SJS this year, please complete the attached form (page 2) and submit it with the appropriate activity fee to the SJS main office by Friday, March 25th.

Saint James 2022 Soccer Season Information and Form

We are also still in need of coaches (no experience is necessary).  Please reach out to Mr. Green at cgreen@saintjamesschool.net if you are able to help coach.

Please note that students will need the 2021-2022 Athletics Health Permission Form completed and signed by their doctor in order to participate (you may email Mrs. Sager in the front office – lsager@saintjamesschool.net –  if you are unsure whether or not your child has a form on file this year).  While this health form must be on file with the school before your child can participate in any practices or games, if there is a delay in receiving it back from the pediatrician by next week’s deadline, please still submit the Soccer sign-up form and payment by the March 25th deadline.

**SJS Spring Auction**

Saint James School is excited to announce that we will be hosting a special Online Auction and Raffle in early May! This auction/raffle will take the place of our annual Gala/Soirée, which we hope to bring back in its traditional format next year.  All funds raised from our Spring Auction and Raffle will go directly towards supporting classroom materials, teacher salaries, and special initiatives at our awesome school.

Part 1: Class Baskets Raffle

Each grade will contribute to this important fundraising initiative by creating a basket to be raffled off within our school community.  There are themes assigned to each grade for their basket, which room parents will be coordinating on behalf of the grade.  Please look for an upcoming notice from your child’s room parent(s) for basket details. Basket themes by grade are as follows:

Pre-K: Barbie
Kindergarten: LEGO
First: Game Night
Second: Book Nook
Third: Movie/Pizza
Forth: Chocolate, Smores and More
Fifth: Spa Package
Sixth: Connecticut Basket
Seventh: Gift Cards
Eighth: Scratch Tickets
Raffle ticket sales will take place in early May, once the baskets are complete.

Part 2:  Online Auction

Our online auction will open on Wednesday, May 11th and close on Thursday, May 12th.  We already have some great auction items on tap (i.e., Principal for a Day, Front Row Seating for Graduation, Special STEM Club session, etc.) and are looking for families that might like to donate an item/experience, etc.  To donate an item (or if you have a connection to items that we could auction off and would like a copy of our 2022 Auction Item Request letter), please reach out to Amy Guenther at aguenther@saintjamesschool.net.  Sponsorships will also be available.  You can find those details HERE:  2022 Auction Sponsorships

Please be on the lookout for additional information in the weeks ahead!

Early Dismissal Tomorrow

As a reminder, we will have a 12:05pm dismissal day again tomorrow (Thursday, March 24th) for parent/teacher conferences.  Aftercare will be in session, however students will need to bring a lunch from home (no hot lunch is served on 12:05pm dismissal days).

Attention Parents of Bus Riders

Please note that due to tomorrow being an early dismissal day for us, we WILL have all of our buses tomorrow (no consolidated routes).   If you normally pick your student(s) up on Wednesday afternoons due to the consolidated bus schedule, please be sure to let them know exactly how they are getting home tomorrow.

4th Grade STEM Club

A STEM Club session will be held after school on Monday, March 28 for students in 4th grade.  If your child would like to attend, please fill out the Permission Form below.  There are a limited number of spaces so students will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
