Field Day Postponed

Due to the forecasted rain for Thursday, we have made the decision to postpone field day until the rain date of June 14th.  Students should wear their regular (Thursday) uniforms to school tomorrow.

Water Bottles

Please send your student with a refillable water bottle every day.  We have way too many students who are coming down to the nurse each day for water because they don’t have a water bottle in their backpack.  Thank you!

Attention All Pre-K & Grade 6 Families

The State of CT requires all students entering Pre-K3, Pre-K4, Kindergarten, and 7th Grade to have an updated Health Assessment form, detailing a recent health physical and signed by the child’s pediatrician, on file with the school nurse prior to the start of school in the Fall.  If your child has their annual physical in the months ahead, please be sure to request a copy of this form or print a copy below and bring it with you to the appointment.

Entering Kindergarten or Grade 7 in Fall 2022: State of CT Health Assessment Form – Kindergarten (aka Blue Physical Form)

Entering Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 in Fall 2022:  State of CT Early Childhood Health Assessment Form Pre-Kindergarten (aka Yellow Physical Form)

Families are welcome to reach out to the school nurse, Mrs. Vignati, with any questions.

Staff Announcement

Saint James School will be saying goodbye to two special staff members at the end of this year:

Mrs. Grant will be leaving her position as lunch aide and extended day aide at the end of this school year as she is planning a move out of state with her family.   Mrs. Grant has been with us for 17 years total – several years as a parent volunteer when her son was in the elementary grades and then the last 12 as an employee serving in her current roles.  While she will be living out of state most of the year, Mrs. Grant has offered to come back as a substitute for the extended day program at times that she is back here in Connecticut.

Mrs. Richards will also be leaving us, having accepted a full-time position at her church.  Mrs. Richards, has been with us for 11 years – first as a parent volunteer and then as an employee working alongside Mrs. Grant in the cafeteria during lunch and also in our extended day program.  Mrs. Richards will be staying on to help with our summer camp program this June and July before starting her new role in the fall.

We wish both ladies all the best in their new adventures and thank them for their years of dedicated service to our school community!
