Tardy Arrivals K-8

A reminder for our K – 8 families, school policy is if your student arrives tardy (after the breezeway doors close at 7:50am), you must park your car and come to the SJS main office with your student to sign them in.  Thank you.

Instrumental Music Notes

Since there is no school this Thursday, all students that normally have lessons and band on Thursdays will meet with Mr. Corcoran on Tuesday (10/8) this week.  If this applies to your student(s), please be sure they bring their instrument to school tomorrow.

Coats for Kids

Our local Knights of Columbus is collecting gently used (or new) children’s winter coats and accessories from October 1  – October 31st.  If you have any items you would like to donate, there is a blue barrel in the breezeway to collect them in.  Thank you for any support you can provide!

Wanted: Barbie Accessories

Our aftercare program is in need of Barbie clothes and accessories to go with the numerous dolls we have.  If you have any gently-used Barbie clothing and accessories, please bring them to the SJS main office and we will get them to Mrs. Talaga and her team in aftercare.  Thank you!

Campus Ministry News

“If there were one million families praying the Rosary every day, the entire world would be saved.” – Pope St. Pius X

Happy October! This is one of my favorite months of the year, not only because I love fall weather and the changing leaves, but because the Catholic Church has dedicated it as the Month of the Rosary. October 7th is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary or Our Lady of Victory, which was established by Pope St. Pius V in 1571. The rosary is a beautiful devotional and contemplative style of prayer that invites us to meditate on significant moments in Jesus’s life through the intercession of Mary. Countless people’s lives have been beautifully changed after they began to pray the rosary regularly.

I would like to encourage all families to intentionally add the rosary to their lives at some point this month. Maybe on Oct. 7, the family can pray one rosary together. If it’s hard to get 25 minutes with everyone, pray one decade of a rosary to or from school every day and you’ll complete it in a week! If you already pray a daily rosary, maybe challenge yourself with a full 20 decade rosary or a scriptural rosary. Give yourself the gift of our Blessed Mother’s care.

If you are new to praying the rosary or don’t remember how, the USCCB explains it all HERE.  There are also various ways to listen/pray along with recorded rosaries via podcasts, music streaming, YouTube, etc. If you’re interested in learning more about the history of the rosary, check out THIS INFO from Dynamic Catholic.

In other news, our joint school choir (with students from both parish schools) is coming together! If your student is in grades 1-8, is interested in participating, and hasn’t been signed up yet, please do so HERE.  Within the next few days, I will be emailing information about our first practice to families who have expressed an interest.

As always, if you have a suggestion for me to consider regarding campus ministry, please share it HERE. You can also reach me at campusminister@saintteresacatholic.org.

I pray our Blessed Mother intercedes for you and your family in a particular way this month. May you recognize her motherly love in your life.
