12:05pm Dismissal Tomorrow

As a reminder, Friday is a 12:05pm dismissal day for Saint James School.  If your child will be going to aftercare at 12:05pm, please remember they need to bring a lunch/drink from home.

Faculty and staff will be attending an offsite professional development event – if your student is being picked up at 12:05pm it is important you are prompt in picking them up as the main office will be closing immediately following dismissal.

Grandparents Day (K-5) Reminders

We are excited to welcome the grandparents/special guests of our Kindergarten – 5th Grade students to Saint James School tomorrow!  RSVP lists have been given to the teachers, along with dismissal information for each student with a guest attending.

If your child will have a grandparent visiting on Friday, here are some reminders to pass along to visitors:

Guest Arrival
We will welcome all visitors with a special program in the Gym starting at 10:00am (all guests will enter through the Gym doors, which will be open starting at 9:45am).  After the program, visitors will be guided to the classrooms to enjoy a special activity with their grandchildren.  Please make sure visitor(s) know which teacher your child has.

Parking
Parking can occur in the same areas as afternoon dismissal, including the St. James Church parking lot. The large parking lot between the Pre-K and main school buildings will also be opened for parking at 9:40am (the lot will be coned off until 9:40am as classes will be outside for gym class).  Cars parking in this lot should only be guests leaving before our 12:05pm dismissal time.

STEM Club Full

Please note, STEM Club for Grade 3 students is full.

Reminder for Advanced Band Students

As a reminder, our Advanced Band students will perform at Grandparents Day on Friday.  Please make sure your student has their instrument on Friday if they will be participating in this.

Water Bottles

As a reminder, please make sure your student comes to school with a refillable water bottle every day.  With the heat starting to come on in the building, it can get a little dry in the classrooms and we do not have the drinking fountains turned on for hygiene reasons.  The water bottle filling stations located throughout the school provide cool, filtered water for students to stay hydrated throughout the day.

STEM Club for Grade 3

An after-school STEM Club will be held on Monday, Oct 31 for students in Grade 3.  If your child would like to attend, please complete the permission form below.  Space is limited but any student who is not accepted this month will have priority next time.

STEM Club Permission Slip 103122

Tomorrow’s Bus Schedule

School buses will be combined again tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at dismissal.

Buses 28, 29 and 31 will be combined

Buses 27 and 32 will be combined

As you may recall, this does impact the time some students arrive home from school if taking the bus.   If your student normally takes the bus home and you will be picking them up at walkers tomorrow instead, please be sure to send a note in with your child tomorrow morning.

Tardy Arrivals Require Parent Sign-In

As a reminder, school for SJS Kindergarten – Grade 8 students begins promptly at 7:50am.  If you find yourself not making it to school on time, please adjust your morning routine accordingly as tardy arrivals are disruptive to the whole classroom.

Also, please remember if your student arrives tardy (after the breezeway doors close at 7:50am), you must park your car and come to the SJS main office with them to sign them in.  This is stated in the student/parent handbook that all families reviewed/signed as well as in several other school communications.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
