Extended: the spiritwear store will remain open until late this evening.
Soccer Spiritwear (as well as many of our general spiritwear items) are now available for sale using the link below.
As a reminder, items can be picked up at SJS when they are ready free of charge (use the shipping drop down to select “Free Pickup From SJS”). Shipping to your home is also available for an extra fee. You will receive an email when items are ready for pick-up at the school.
A huge Thank You to all the SJS families that participated in the CHET Dream Big Contest earlier this year. By having some of our students sign up to participate in the competition – Saint James School was entered into a drawing for $7,500 worth of free technology – WHICH WE WON!
We are also pleased to announce that two of our students won scholarship money for their entries – 3rd Grader Gracie Nazario and 7th Grader Hannah Pfeiffer (pictured below with just a fraction of the $7,500 in free goodies we received).
We certainly are grateful for families that seek out these types of opportunities to potentially support our school!!
Please note that students in grades 5-8 will have lessons and band on Tuesday, April 25th this week.
STEM Club will be held on Tuesday, May 2 for students in Grade 1. Please complete the permission form if your child would like to attend.
The HSA invites all Saint James School boys to grab their favorite adult and join their fellow SJS friends at Urban Air (220 Hale Road in Manchester) on April 22nd 2:00-4:00pm.
Families are invited to purchase tickets directly online at https://www.urbanair.com/connecticut-manchester/ OR you can also buy tickets in person the day of the event (if that time slot is not sold out). There is also an online waiver that must be signed by a parent/guardian in order for your son to participate.
Please note, this is NOT a drop-off event (a parent or guardian must stay on site).
As a reminder, this coming Sunday is the SJS Family Fun Day at the Yard Goats! For families that purchased tickets, you should have received an email last week with your ticket/seat assignment. If you did not receive the tickets in your email, please reach out to parent volunteer coordinator Jodi Talaga at jtalaga94@gmail.com.
Parents and students from our school have been offered the opportunity to hold the Big Flag on the field during the National Anthem. Please meet at the top of section 101-102 (first couple of sections inside the main gates) by 12:50pm and a Yard Goats representative will come bring everyone down onto the field.
We encourage students to wear their SJS 100th anniversary shirts or other SJS spiritwear to the game!
In light of the fact that there is rain in the forecast for Sunday, here is the Rain Policy provided by the Stadium: We will play through most weather, however if we do not complete at least 4.5 innings (ruled an official game) due to the weather, then we will issue rain check all of the tickets. That means that your guests will be able to exchange their tickets at the box office for a ticket to another 2023 Yard Goats game for a ticket of equal or lesser value based on availability.
Our sister school – St. Bridget – welcomes SJS families and friends to check out their upcoming production of Disney’s Camp Rock! The production will be held next weekend on various days and time. If you are interested in attending, you may send the attached form to the SJS Main Office with payment early next week and we will facilitate getting your tickets to you (or you are welcome to pay at the door).

As a reminder, to celebrate our Centennial Anniversary and honor our school’s tradition of service to others, Saint James School is in the midst of a 100 Acts of Kindness Challenge! The list below shows some simple ideas that families/students can participate in. Be sure to add your family’s contribution to our Google Form: https://forms.gle/BwLEoy31rDa25wMYA or your student can send a note to Mrs. Zorger directly.
Today after school several of our 8th grade students will be assembling Brian Bags to distribute to the local homeless community. Our school has participated in this service opportunity for many years. If you are new to SJS or don’t remember what the Brian Bags are, you can read last year’s informational post here: https://saintjamesschool.net/brian-bags-service-project-2/
If you would like a few “Brian Bags” sent home with your student(s) to distribute to any homeless individual you may encounter in your daily travels, please send a note to their teacher(s) tomorrow or Friday.
