Congratulations to the SJS Newspaper Club on the publication of their first newspaper! A copy will be coming home with students today – please be on the lookout for it. Great job Sabers!
Please remember that Friday’s dismissal will be at 11:00am. We will have our buses at 11:00am on Friday and aftercare will be in session beginning at 11:00am. Students going to aftercare will need a lunch from home.
As you might recall, each year Saint James School puts together a “State of the School” presentation to talk about our school’s performance in critical areas and outline major initiatives. On Friday, December 22nd, students are welcome to wear a Red, Green, or Christmas-themed SHIRT to school with their standard Friday uniform bottoms. Please remember standard dress down guidelines from page 11 of the Parent Student Handbook apply.
We are excited to announce another extracurricular activity has been added for students in grades 4 – 6. Fifth grade teacher Mrs. Simoncini will be hosting an after school Art Club, meeting every other Thursday after school until 3:15pm. The club will start on January 11th and run through May. Each month, participants will explore/utilize different mediums to create their works of art. The Cost is $50 per student for the club to purchase supplies. Parents/guardians must use THIS LINK to sign their student up. Payment (cash or check) is due to the SJS main office by Friday, December 22nd (please label envelope with “Art Club” and be sure to list student’s name and homeroom teacher). Checks should be made out to Saint James School.
We are excited to share that tomorrow, the SJS Drama Club will be performing “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” during school hours for students and staff to enjoy.
A second performance will be held tomorrow evening – at Cheney Hall – for families and friends of the performers. All are welcome and there is no charge, but all SJS students must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 5:30pm, performance will begin at 6:00pm.
Performers, please remember tonight’s dress rehearsal will be at Cheney Hall (177 Hartford Road, Manchester). Please arrive (in costume items from home) between 4:00pm – 4:30pm. Additional costume pieces will be given to actors when they arrive, where applicable.
