Reminder: Lenten Rosary Club

We are excited to announce that our campus minister, Ms. Holmes, and parent volunteer, Mrs. Callahan, will be hosting a Lenten Rosary Club for students in 1st – 5th grade.  The club will meet after school on select Thursdays until 3:15pm.  If your students is interested, please return the form below with cash/check to the SJS main office.  The club is limited to the first 20 students to submit their forms and fee to the office.

Car Seat Safety Checks

For families with children still in car seats and/or booster seats, we wanted to share that the Manchester Police Department offers FREE car seat safety inspections every Thursday from 3:00pm – 7:00pm.  Please see the below for additional information.

3rd Grade STEM Club

There will be a session of STEM Club for students in Grade 3 on Monday, March 10.  If your child would like to attend, please complete and return the permsission form.

*Please remember that the Faculty Faith Conference that was originally scheduled for Friday, March 28th has been moved to Tuesday, April 1st.  This means school IS in session on March 28th and students will be off from school on April 1st.

Mad Science
The current session of Mad Science will end on Thursday, March 13th.  Saint James School will host another Mad Science session (for grades 1 & 2) beginning on Thursday, April 3rd.  If your 1st or 2nd grade student(s) would like to participate, please see the flyer below for registration information.  Space is limited.

Chess Club
The current session of chess club will end next Wednesday, March 5th.  A new session will begin on April 2nd.  If your student would like to participate in the Spring chess club, please see the flyer below.  Please note, space is limited so the submission of the completed permission slip to the SJS main office will secure your spot.  If you choose to pay by Venmo or Zelle instead of check, please note you will also need to submit your permission slip to the SJS main office at the same time to secure the spot.

Reminder for Varsity Basketball Families

Tomorrow is the RSVP deadline for next week’s Varsity Basketball Banquet.

Best Wishes to our Sabers!

Please join us in wishing good luck to the Saint James middle school robotics teams – all four of which earned a place in tomorrow’s state championship competition!  The event will take place at Plainville Middle School.

Also, best wishes to both the SJS boys Varsity Gold and girls Varsity basketball teams on their first game of the state competition tomorrow at St. Paul Catholic High School.  The girls will play at 11:30am and the boys game will begin at 1:00pm.  All SJS families are welcome to attend to on our Sabers!  The school is located at 1001 Stafford Avenue in Bristol.

Brian Bags

Thank you to the families who signed up to assist with distributing Brian Bags.  We do still have some remaining in the office if any additional families would like them.  Please sign up on the sheet in the original post (HERE) and we will send those home with students on Monday.  Any remaining bags will be passed along to the Knights of Columbus for distribution.
