Last Day of School Update

Assuming we do not have any additional snow days this school year, our new adjusted last day will be Thursday, June 13th (to account for the two snow days we have had).  Please note that June 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th will all be 12:05pm dismissal days.  Aftercare will be in session on all 4 days.

Please note the following:

8th grade graduation remains the same: Friday, May 31st, 7:00
Pre-K 4-year old stepping up Ceremony and last day of school is Tuesday, June 11
Pre-K3-year old program last day of school is also Tuesday, June 11
Kindergarten Celebration and last day of school for Kindergarten students is Wednesday, June 12
Our SJS summer camp program begins on June 17th!

New Covid Illness Policy

The CDC has released updated guidance related to Covid illnesses.  Effective immediately our school’s Covid policy (as well as the policy for MPS) is as follows:

Students and staff are required to remain at home until they have been fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours and symptoms are improving. 

There is no longer a mandatory 5 day requirement to remain at home and mask wearing upon return to school is optional.  If you have any questions please reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. Pennington.

Congratulations to SJS 7th grader Zia Vavanan on winning 1st place the CHET Dream Big competition for Grades 5 – 8 that we sent out many months ago.  This was a state-wide essay contest on the topic of What is something you could do to help make the lives of others better?   As the winner, Zia will have $20,000 deposited in her CHET account for college!  Way to go Zia!

SJS Silent Auction Now Open!

Our Silent Auction opens at 2:00pm today!

We hope you will consider bidding on some of the wonderful items listed – all proceeds support our great school!

Bidding on all items will close at exactly 8:00pm tomorrow (Saturday, March 9th) – whether you are bidding from home or bidding from the Gala Event at Cheney Hall.  For convenience, all Silent Auction payments will be collected online.

For those who have RSVP’d for tomorrow evening’s event, the cocktail reception will begin at 6:00pm; dinner will be served at 7:30pm.

The Gala Committee kindly requests that, if possible, in-person attendees please bring Cash and/or Checks for raffle ticket and live auction items purchased on Saturday.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you tomorrow night!

 

Please Join Us! Consortium Schools Mass Sunday

Our Parish will be hosting a special Mass for our two Consortium schools (Saint James & Saint Bridget) on Sunday, March 10th at 5:00pm at St. Bartholomew Church. We hope parents/guardians will attend with their SJS student(s) as we celebrate our wonderful, faith-filled community!  Please have your student(s) wear their uniform.

Scoliosis Screenings

Our school nurse is sending home permission forms for scoliosis screenings for grades 5 and 7 girls and grade 8 boys.  Forms need to be returned by March 28th or the nurse will not be able to perform this screening for your child.

Middle School Dance Reminder

As a reminder, there will be middle school dance for students in 6th, 7th, & 8th grade NEXT Friday (March 15th) at Saint Bridget School.  This was a date change from the original calendar published in September.  Permissions slips will go home with students next week and must be brought to the dance with the appropriate admission fee.  Attire for the dance is casual.
