Saint James JV Soccer Wins League Championship

For those that didn’t see our post on Facebook this weekend, we are excited to announce that the Saint James School JV Amber (5th Grade) Soccer Team for won their league championship on Saturday – 2nd year in a row for these kids!

Also, a huge congratulations to their coach – Jon Sargent – for winning the league’s Coach Sportsmanship Award for adhering to the principals of “Character, Commitment, Fairness, and Christ” in his coaching.  A well deserved award for both Jon and his team who really demonstrated model sportsmanship (along with our SJS parents) during the games and after their wins.

Way to go Sabers!!

Important SJS Hot Lunch Information

Mrs. Kanute would like to remind families that if your child owes money to the Manchester Hot Lunch Program, the amount needs to be paid by tomorrow – Friday, May 31st – in order for them to purchase hot lunch during the month of June.

Parents who owe money will have received a call from the school yesterday and/or a statement sent home in their child’s folder highlighting the negative balance.

We have been told by the Town of Manchester that any money owed at the end of the school year must be paid for by the school.  Therefore, during the month of June, any child purchasing lot lunch must have money in their account at school or bring cash to pay for that day’s lunch.

Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this matter.

Also, please remember that there is NO hot lunch or milk being served tomorrow (Friday) for the staff appreciation luncheon.

Memorial Day Parade

Thank you to all our parents who signed their children up to march in the Memorial Day Parade on behalf of Saint James School.  With so many people traveling this weekend, we only had a few families RSVP so we have decided not to have Saint James School march this year.

Have a wonderful, safe Memorial Day Weekend and we’ll see you back in school on Tuesday.  Please remember to take a moment to say a prayer for all those who have served our country.

Second, photographs of Saint James School activities may be uploaded to Facebook, but will not be “published” until we have reviewed them – ensuring that all students/people in the picture have provided consent to be included.

As always, we thank you for your support of our school!  We look forward to “seeing” you on Facebook!

2013 Manchester Memorial Parade

We are really hoping to have Saint James School represented again in this year’s Memorial Parade.  We currently only have 2 families signed up – so in order to make this happen, we need your support!  We are looking for student and parent volunteers to march with us in the parade on May 27th.  Parents may bring wagons to pull younger children in if they wish.  We would really like to have a number of our middle school students participate as well.

Please take a moment to check your schedule and send in a copy of the signed Memorial Parade Permission Slip (by Thursday) if you/your child(ren) will be able to join us next Monday.

If you have any questions, please contact Amy Guenther at 860.643.5088 (#6 on main menu) or at aguenther@saintjamesschool.net.

Thank you for helping Saint James School show our gratitude for the men and women who fought to make our Country great!!

Important: School Lunch Accounts

Please note that lunch account statements will be sent home today.  Please take a moment to review your family’s statement and pay outstanding balances in full by the end of the month (checks can be made out to “Manchester Hot Lunch Program”).  Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter.
