St. James Church Roof Project Impact

Please note the following Mass changes, effective today until further notice, as a result of the re-roofing project now underway at Saint James Church:

* Daily Mass (Monday-Friday) will be held at Assumption Church until further notice. Therefore, SJS 5th graders will not be attending Monday Mass during construction.

* The Friday 1:00pm Stations of the Cross has been moved to Assumption Church for the remainder of Lent (Grades K-8 – with the exception of 5th – have already attended a session of Stations of the Cross during the past few weeks).

* Our school-wide Mass on April 25th WILL be at Saint James Church (construction will be paused during our school Mass).

* Weekend Masses will continue to be held at Saint James Church according to the normal schedule (as no construction will take place on the weekends at this point).

Soccer Starts Next Week – Coaches Needed!

SJS soccer practices will begin this coming Wednesday, April 3rd, (weather permitting), however we are still in need of coaches for the 3rd/4th & 5th grade teams.  Previous soccer experience is not needed to be a coach.

As with years past, practices will be Wednesday evenings with games on Saturdays.  If you are able to help, please reach out to our volunteer coordinator (and parent of two SJS graduates) Jon Sargent at sjssoccer@charter.net.

As with years past, practices are held at the Manchester’s Charter Oak Park Soccer Field. Students fully registered to participate (sports fee paid, paperwork completed, and doctor-completed sports form on file) will practice as follows:

Grades 3 – 5:  5:00pm – 6:30pm
Grades 6 – 8: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
