SJS Unveils New Mission Statement!

As announced earlier this year, Saint James School is preparing to meet with our visiting team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) as part of the re-accreditation process.  This major evaluation takes place every 10 years, (with interim reports completed in between) in order retain our accreditation status.  As part of this process, the SJS faculty and staff are currently working on our self-study.  Thank you again to everyone who participated in the surveys back in late September. The data collected plays a significant role in helping us reflect on what our school does well and where we might be able to improve.

As part of the 10-year self-study, our faculty and staff also reviewed our school’s mission statement, and after careful consideration, voted to make a few changes to better align this statement (and our school’s guiding philosophy) with the Profile of an SJS Graduate—another important guide that was developed by, and is periodically reviewed by, SJS faculty and staff.

Today, as we kick off Catholic Schools Week, we will begin saying our new Mission Statement each morning.

Saint James School provides a quality Catholic education based on the teachings of Jesus Christ building a foundation for independent, lifelong learning. We strive to develop every child’s full potential through faith, academics, service, and character formation.

Our school’s first visit by the NEASC accreditation team will take place in April.  We look forward to sharing additional details about this visit and our re-accreditation process in the months ahead.
