Reminder: SJS Halloween Party This Weekend!

Just a reminder that the annual Saint James School Halloween Party will be held this coming Saturday from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the school gym.  All Saint James School students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 are invited! (Parents/guardians must remain at this event with their child).

If you have not already RSVP’d, it’s not too late!  Please send the Halloween Party Invitation in to the school office as soon as possible!

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday for a spook-tacular good time!

Cross Country Challenge

Congratulations and thank you to the 39 Saint James School students in grades K-5 (and their families) who came out on Saturday for the Frank Rizza Manchester Elementary School Cross Country Challenge.  It was a beautiful fall day and our students did a wonderful job representing our school!

Special honors went to Jack Randolph for coming in 1st place in the Kindergarten Boys Race, Nicholas Guenther for placing 2nd in the Boys 2nd-3rd Grade division, and Lindsay O’Neill taking 6th in the Girls 2nd – 3rd Grade division.

We look forward to participating again in this fun, town-wide event next year!

 

Basketball Tryouts

There will be basketball tryouts again this week for students in grades  7 & 8 wishing to play basketball for SJS.

 

Tuesday 10/23: Girls in grades 7 & 8 – 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Tuesday 10/23: Boys in grades 7 & 8 – 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Wednesday 10/24: Girls in grades 7 & 8 – 5:30 – 7:30 (tryouts and clinic)

Grades K-5: Come Run With Saint James School…

Tomorrow is the annual Frank Rizza Elementary School Cross Country challenge for the town of Manchester.  We currently have 31 Saint James students from grades K-5 signed up to run…will you join us?

If you have not already turned in your registration/permission slip, don’t worry…just print out a copy of the one below and bring it with you tomorrow morning.

Virtus Training Tomorrow Night At SJS

Just a reminder that Saint James School is hosting a Virtus training session tomorrow night at the school (6:30pm) for all parents interested in volunteering at SJS (including class parties and field trips).

If you have not already completed a Virtus training, this is a great opportunity to do so.  You only need to complete this training once during your tenure at SJS.  Please call the school office if you plan to attend tomorrow night.

The school is currently experiencing difficulties with our main phone number.  If  you need to call the school and cannot get through on the main number please call us at (860) 646-7808 or (860) 643-9605.  These numbers will get you into the main school menu.

 

 

Basketball Tryouts

Basketball Tryouts will be in the school gym as follows:

 
Girls:  October 15th & 17th
 
Grades 4-6 — 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Grades 7-8 — 6:30 – 8:30pm

 
Boys:  October 16th & 18th
 
Grades 4-6 — 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Grades 7-8 — 7:00pm – 9:00pm

 

Middle School Dance Tonight

Below please find some specifics on the Middle School Dance being held tonight at St. Chris.

 

1.  Students must read and sign the updated dance guidelines on the 2012-2013 Middle School Dance Permission Slip. Parents are still required to sign permission slip.
2.  Students donating a non-perishable food item will receive an extra raffle ticket.
3.  St Chris is honoring Breast Cancer Month by decorating the gym in pink and white and accepting donations at the door.

 

Attention Grades K – 5: Manchester Cross Country Challenge

Calling all Saint James School boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade:

 
Join Saint James School on Saturday, October 20th at Manchester High School as we compete in the Annual Manchester Cross Country Challenge.  Please open the attached registration form and permission slip for details.
 
Saint James School boys and girls participating should wear their Gym Shirt the day of the race.

Mixed Bag Fundraiser Deadline Extended To 10/17

Please note, the deadline for the Mixed Bag Fundraiser has been extended to Wednesday, Oct. 17th.  Remember, Saint James earns 50% of all sales so Every Sale Counts!  If you have already turned in your order form – Thank You!!

 

After the 17th, your out-of-state, relatives and friends can also help by shopping online at Mixedbagdesigns.com.  In order for St. James to get credit, please use our ID#103307. We do make more on catalog sales so make sure to keep the online shopping to those contacts that can’t get their hands on a catalog!
