As part of a lesson on early American history last week, 5th grade students learned about types of punishments that would have been handed out for various offenses back in colonial times. Mrs. Wojtyna passed along these pictures of her class having fun with the various forms of punishments students may have endured in a colonial classroom.

Congratulations to the Girls JV Basketball team on winning the Overall Deanery Championship title at last night’s game. The boys JV and Boys Varsity teams were both beat by the Parish teams they played last night. All teams now begin competing in the state championships this weekend. Best of luck!
Congratulations to the Saint James School boys JV Basketball team on their win against St. Christopher last night. They will play tonight at St. Bridget at 7:00pm for the overall (parish vs. school) Deanery Championships. Also playing for the overall Deanery Champion title tonight are the SJS JV Girls (6:00pm at St. Bridget) and the SJS Varsity Boys (8:00pm at St. Bridget). The SJS Varsity Girls won the overall Deanery Championship game in their division last week. All Saint James Basketball teams play in their respective state tournaments beginning this weekend. Congratulations to all the Saint James School Basketball teams for a truly stellar performance so far this season!
The SJS Girls Varsity team won the Manchester Deanery School Championships and also the overall Manchester Deanery Championship, beating out St. Bernard’s Parish on Friday for the overall title. They will now advance as a top seed in the State tournament which begins this weekend.

The SJS Girls Junior Varsity team won the Manchester Deanery School Championship on Friday evening. They will play again on Tuesday evening against St. Bernard at St. Bridget school for the overall school vs parish Deanery Championship title but already earned a top seed in the State tournament which begins this weekend.

The Boys Varsity basketball team also won the Manchester Deanery School Championships and will play on Tuesday evening against St. Patrick’s Parish for the overall Deanery Championship title. They have already earned a top seed in the State tournament which begins this weekend.

Congratulations to Mrs. Cruz’s class AND Mrs. Vassallo’s class for winning the February Box Tops dress down day contest. Both classes brought in over 1,000 Box Tops so a dress down day will be awarded to both. Mrs. Cruz’s class had 1,026 Box Tops and Mrs. Vassallo had 1,002. The teachers will notify the classes of when their dress down day will occur. Congratulations!
