Since Saint James School will be hosting Junior Achievement all day on Friday, Mr. Corcoran will teach music lessons for Grades 6-8 tomorrow (Wednesday) instead of Friday this week.
Make Your Tuesday Feel Like Friday!
Take a night off from cooking and dine-out at TGI FRIDAYS (209 Hale Rd, Manchester) tonight (Tuesday, February 23) from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Present the below flyer and 20% of your sale will be donated to SJS! As always, we THANK YOU for your support!
Is your student interested in learning more about the game of Chess or bettering their Chess skills? Mrs. O’Neill will once again be hosting the Saint James School Chess Club for students in grades 4 – 8. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, March 1st from 2:05pm – 3:00pm. The Chess Club will meet every other Tuesday through the end of May.
Permission slips should be returned to the office with the $20 activity fee in an envelope marked “Chess Club” if your child wishes to participate. Students who have a Chess set are asked to please bring it with them each week.
Also, Mrs. O’Neill is in need of at least one additional parent volunteer to help out with the Chess Club each week. Please see the permission slip for details.
If anyone has a chess set they are willing to donate to the Chess Club, we are in need of additional sets.
Please read the attached letter from the Religious Education Coordinator for Saint James Church. If your child will receive the sacraments of First Penance/First Communion this year (2nd grade and up), this letter contains important information about the mandatory parent’s meeting and other important dates. If your child has not been baptized yet and you would like them to be, please contact Macy Jordan using her contact information in this letter.
As a reminder, school will not be in session next week for our February Break. We wish everyone a relaxing, enjoyable vacation and we will see you back at school on Monday, February 22nd.
