Trunk or Treat

We had such a great Trunk or Treat event on Saturday!  A huge Thank You Mr. & Mrs. Harris for hosting and to all the parents and 7th & 8th grade volunteers that helped make it such a great day for the kids!

Monday: Halloween-Themed Shirt Day

In honor of Halloween, students are invited to wear a Halloween-themed shirt to school this coming Monday, October 31st, along with their regular uniform bottoms.*

Please note, shirts must be orange, black, or purple or be Halloween-themed and be in compliance with the school’s standard dress-down guidelines.

*If this is your child’s gym day, they would wear their navy shorts or sweatpants with their Halloween-themed shirt, all other students will wear their uniform shorts, uniform pants, or – for girls – their uniform skort.

Tomorrow: Trunk or Treat!

Trunk or Treat is on Saturday!  Here is some helpful info for the families that signed up to attend:

Please bring along candy or treats to hand out around 120 children.
Make sure you bring a trick-or-treat bag for your child to collect candy.

If you signed up to attend without decorating:

Grandparents Day 2022

Thank you to all the grandparents and special guests that joined us today and to all our wonderful performers, including the Advanced Band.

12:05pm Dismissal Tomorrow

As a reminder, Friday is a 12:05pm dismissal day for Saint James School.  If your child will be going to aftercare at 12:05pm, please remember they need to bring a lunch/drink from home.

Faculty and staff will be attending an offsite professional development event – if your student is being picked up at 12:05pm it is important you are prompt in picking them up as the main office will be closing immediately following dismissal.

Grandparents Day (K-5) Reminders

We are excited to welcome the grandparents/special guests of our Kindergarten – 5th Grade students to Saint James School tomorrow!  RSVP lists have been given to the teachers, along with dismissal information for each student with a guest attending.

If your child will have a grandparent visiting on Friday, here are some reminders to pass along to visitors:

Guest Arrival
We will welcome all visitors with a special program in the Gym starting at 10:00am (all guests will enter through the Gym doors, which will be open starting at 9:45am).  After the program, visitors will be guided to the classrooms to enjoy a special activity with their grandchildren.  Please make sure visitor(s) know which teacher your child has.

Parking
Parking can occur in the same areas as afternoon dismissal, including the St. James Church parking lot. The large parking lot between the Pre-K and main school buildings will also be opened for parking at 9:40am (the lot will be coned off until 9:40am as classes will be outside for gym class).  Cars parking in this lot should only be guests leaving before our 12:05pm dismissal time.

Reminder for Advanced Band Students

As a reminder, our Advanced Band students will perform at Grandparents Day on Friday.  Please make sure your student has their instrument on Friday if they will be participating in this.

Fifth Grade Story Quilts

Yesterday our 5th grade students presented their “Story Quilts” on a historical fiction book of their choosing.  The idea was to pick four symbols from the book to illustrate and explain why they were significant.
