Reminder: Digital Double Feature!

Our campus minister, Stephanie Holmes, and school social worker, Ann McAdams, would like to invite all school families to attend two events which address the influence technology and internet access have on today’s youth. These are opportunities for both Saint Bridget and Saint James School families to socialize and learn together. Digital Double Feature Flyer

CARLO ACUTIS: ROADMAP TO REALITY
On Monday, April 28 at 7:00pm let’s all go to the movies at Cinemark Theaters in Manchester to see the film Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality! Carlo Acutis was a remarkable Italian boy who died at the age of 15 in 2006. During his brief life he was devoted to the Catholic faith, particularly the Eucharist, and utilized technology and the internet to share his devotion with others. He will be officially canonized a Saint on Sunday, April 27. This new documentary about Carlo “tackles urgent technology-related questions, examining how the virtual landscape threatens our fundamental understanding of what it means to be human” according to the film’s press release. You can view the trailer for the movie HERE. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP but tickets must be purchased independently. This is not a school-sponsored field trip, ALL students must be accompanied by an adult as there will be no volunteer chaperones.

PARENT WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL SAFETY
On Thursday, May 1 at 5:30pm all parents are invited to attend “What Do You REALLY Know: A Parent Workshop on Digital Safety.” This will take place in the Saint James School gymnasium and a simple dinner will be available. Ann McAdams will kick off the evening with some background about her role in our schools and share some of the problematic influences and potential online dangers our students face daily. A Manchester police officer will provide a presentation on digital awareness and safety followed by some time for a Q&A. RSVPs are required to attend this workshop so please sign up HEREPlease note this is for parents/guardians only (no students attend) and is applicable for all aged students (even our younger ones).
