Thanksgiving Mass
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolToday our 1st through 8th graders attended Thanksgiving Mass at Saint James Church, giving thanks to God for the many blessings we share this Holiday season. Father Cavanaugh gave a very nice sermon – which included input from the students – about the Pilgrims, why they came here, and the struggles they endured to gain religious freedom.
Several of our 6th grade students presented the gifts, performed the gospel readings, and served as alter servers during the mass. In addition students carried to the church the food donations from our families which are being picked up today by members of St. Vincent de Paul.
Thank you to all our wonderful students and families for the donations and for the wonderful job you did at Mass today. We are so blessed to have you as part of our school! We hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving.
