Advanced Band To Play at Local Retirement Home
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolOn Wednesday, May 18th, the Saint James School Advanced Band will perform at The Arbors Retirement Center in Manchester. The students will leave just after 9:00am and return to the school by 11:30am.
Saint James XC Runner is World Champion
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolCongratulations to Saint James School Cross Country team member Aiden Puffer (who runs with SJS because his Catholic school does not have a XC team) who set a new WORLD track 5k record for 11-year-olds (with a time of 17:06.05) in Waltham, MA over the weekend. The previous record was 17:06.93 set in South Africa. Aiden’s SJS teammates were very excited to hear of their friend’s accomplishment and we at SJS feel quite blessed to have him on our team.

Used Book Sale To Benefit SJS Library

All books will be sold for $1.00, and proceeds will go to purchase new books for our school Library. Pre-K Hop-a-Thon Raises Money For the MDA
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolCongratulations to all our Pre-Kindergarten Students (and thank you to their families) for helping us raise over $660.00 to donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in our annual Pre-K MDA Hop-A-Thon. The Hop-A-Thon is part of a whole educational program that teaches our children the three core values — awareness, acceptance, and assistance — for those with special needs at an age-appropriate (preschool) level. The money raised from our Hop-A-Thon will go towards research of over 40 forms of muscle diseases and health support services for those in need. International Day 2016
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolCongratulations to the Saint James School 8th Grade class on the outstanding job they did hosting International Day on Wednesday. International Day is an annual project for the 8th Graders, where they showcase their research on an assigned country. Costumes, games, props, and traditional dishes are part of the festivities. Students in all the other grades have an opportunity to visit the showcase throughout the day and the 8th Graders share information about their assigned country. (click pictures to enlarge)
7th Grade NYC Field Trip

In addition to a bus trip through the city, stops included the Statue of Liberty, 9-11 memorial, and the SeaGlass Carousel at the Battery Conservancy.
