XC State Championships

Congratulations to all the boys and girls who competed this past weekend at the CT State XC Champtionships at Wickham State Park.  It was a packed field with over 350 runners in each race.  Leading the team in the premier “A” races were AJ Bushnell and Ally Ansaldi.  AJ has steadily improved from race to race, finishing the season in top form.  In a competitive girls’ race, Ally saved her best race for the Championships, running smart and finishing strong.  Dominic Cavallo was the 2nd man for the team, running a tough race from start to finish, and Kaitlyn Nyberg, as a 6th grader, placed 2nd for the team.

It was a great season for the SJS XC team!!  Many thanks to Coach Jen O’Neill for volunteering her time and energy to this great school sport!
