HSA Meeting Day CHANGED

As tomorrow is a Holy Day of Obligation for All Saints’ Day, the HSA meeting has been moved to THURSDAY (11/3) at 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria. 

All parents/guardians/grandparents of SJS students are welcome to attend.  When you arrive at the school for the meeting, please ring the buzzer to the left of the breezeway door and meet us in the Cafeteria. 

This month’s agenda will include a review and discussion of Halloween Trunk or Treat, ideas for a new Christmas event, and details on the Mother/Son and Father/Son events.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact us with any feedback or questions at HSA@SaintJamesSchool.net.

Congratulations Eastern Regional Band Students

Congratulations to all the Saint James School students who, through audition, were invited to participate in the Eastern Regional Band Concert at Saint James School this past Saturday:  Colleen Truman, Kevin Zaluda, Rachel Donnelly, Alexandra Parsons, Margo Kamis, Jack Dufresne, Conor Bernier, Lily Zaluda, Evanthea Parsons, Kevin Canny, Marion Patsalides and Max Italia.  The group received a standing ovation for their exceptional performance.

XC Practice Tomorrow

The last meet for 6th – 8th grade runners will be the CT State meet at Wickham Part on Saturday, November 5th.  Drivers are needed for Tuesday’s practice to take the team over to Wickham Park to become familiar with the course.  If you can help, please contact Coach O’Neill.  Runners will return to SJS about 4:00pm.

All other XC Runners, please wash and return to labeled uniform to Coach O’Neill  by this Wednesday.  Thank you!

Winter Uniform Begins Tomorrow

As a reminder, the SJS Winter Uniform begins tomorrow.  This means students may no longer wear shorts to school and Middle School boys must wear their SJS Uniform button-down shirt and a tie.

As noted on Friday, Lands’ End is offering 40% off merchandise during their annual Friends & Family sale, running October 31st – November 8th.  The Promotion Code is: FAMILY40 and the Pin is: 8055

Middle School Dance at SJS this Friday

The first middle school dance of the school year will be held at Saint James School this Friday, November 4th.  Attire for this dance is casual/standard attire.  Saint James School students attending the school dance are asked to bring the following items:

6th graders & Ms. O’s homeroom: individually wrapped snacks (no peanut products please)

8th graders & Mrs. Wolpert’s homeroom: 1 gallon jugs of water

Please bring items to the cafeteria on Friday morning or to the gym the night of the school dance.

The dance will run from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Attending students must bring their signed Middle School Dance permission slip and $5.00 entrance fee.  If you are available to help chaperone, please contact Darcy Donnelly at ddonnell@travelers.com.

Pick-up in Pre-K/Staff Lot Today

Afternoon pickup for grades K-8 will take place in the lot between the Pre-K and the Main School today due to event setup taking place in the gym.

Reminder: $1.00 Dress Down Monday

In keeping with the fun spirit of Halloween, students may pay $1.00 to come to school in dress down attire on Monday (October 31st).  Dress down attire should be black, orange, purple, or green.  NO masks, costumes (except K and Pre-K), painted faces, or colored hair.  Money collected will be donated to St. Vincent De Paul for the purchase of Thanksgiving Turkeys.

Last Call: SJS Basketball Spirit Wear

Attached please find the flyer for basketball spirit wear.  SJS Basketball players may wear the basketball spirit wear shorts/pants and sweatshirt to school on their gym day, along with their standard white/gray gym shirt.  Orders are due to the office by October 31st.
