Boys Basketball Update

The Saint James Boys teams were on a roll over the past few days as all four Boys JV and Varsity teams posted wins this past week.

SJS JV Blue notched its first win of the season over St. Chris in a Double Overtime thriller Saturday in West Hartford.  Abi P. stole the show for Coach Huyler’s Boys with two free throws with no time on clock to force a second OT than he hit a dramatic 3 pointer from top of the key for the game winner being mobbed by his team mates after!!

SJS JV Gold rolled to an impressive win over l previously unbeaten St Thomas the Apostle with a stellar team defensive effort holding them to just 10 points going on to a 30 to 10 victory.  SJS JV Gold remains undefeated at 3-0!

SJS Varsity Blue came from behind to beat St Chris in a nail bitter 35 to 34 at St Chris in E Hartford.  This team had been in several close games this year and stuck together to notch their first win.

SJS Varsity Gold had a solid team effort to beat St Bridget’s at their gym Thursday evening  32 to 17. Dom C. led the team in scoring and Chris P. showed tremendous toughness winning the battle of the backboard.

The 4th and 5th Grade Saturday Development league  opened its season this weekend.  Kids were excited to get on the court and two great games were enjoyed by players parents and friends in attendance.  St James White (Carroll) won both games in the season opener.  14 to 8 victory in the first game over St James Black (Chomick)  Then hung on to beat St James Navy (Kincheloe)  in the back end of the double header 11 to 10.  All 3 teams back on the court at SJS this coming Saturday at 9:30 am and 10 :30.  Come cheer these kids on Saturday morning!
