Congratulations to the SJS Boys JV Gold (6th grade) basketball team for winning their State tournament game yesterday, 37-35, over St. Peter Paul….the team will now move on to the semifinals next Saturday, 3/11, at 2:30PM, at St. Paul’s Catholic High School, Bristol. Congratulations Sabers and best of luck on Saturday!
Also, the Saint James Girls Varsity Basketball team defeated St. Rita of Hamden and went on to defeat St. John of Watertown 35-34 over the weekend. The team now advances to the state semifinals against Blessed Sacrament. The game will be played at Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury at 1:45 on Saturday.

Congratulations also go out to the Girls JV Basketball team for making it to the quarterfinals in their state tournament! They won their first game this weekend, but lost to Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, ending their season. Special thanks to Mrs. Italia for sending in this great picture of the Girls JV team with their coach, Mrs. Jablonicki.
School Mass This Sunday @ 9am

Saint James students will be serving in many capacities including altar servers, readers, and gift bearers, in addition to our school Choir performing. A reception in the lower church will follow the mass with coffee, juice, and donuts provided.
All Saint James School families are welcome regardless of faith or home parish. We hope to see you there!

Early Dismissal & Pick-up Today
/in St. James Notices /by jonesenAs a reminder, today – Thursday, March 9th – is a 12:05pm dismissal day for a teacher workshop. Aftercare will be in session. Students attending aftercare will need a lunch from home as no hot lunch is served on early dismissal days.
*Pickup at 12:05pm today will be in the lot between the school and the Pre-Kindergarten facility as they gym will be set up for part of the in-service program.*
As a reminder, other early dismissal days this month are March 22nd and March 23rd for conferences. In addition, there is no school on March 29th.

Parade Saturday
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolDue to the anticipated bad weather for Saturday morning and a low number of RSVP forms received, Saint James School will not be marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade this weekend. We wish to extend a huge thank you to all those who did sign up to represent our school.
We will try again next year and hope that a better forecast and more advance notice will help to bring out more families.
HSA Meeting Tonight

All parents/guardians/grandparents of SJS students are welcome to attend. When you arrive at the school for the meeting, please ring the buzzer to the left of the breezeway door and meet us in the school library.
This month we will be recapping our recent events and fundraisers and planning for the upcoming Easter event and Movie Night. Please join us if you can!
