The Saint James School Scarecrow is up on Main Street – thank you to the McCarthy and O’Hara families for putting this together for us!

XC Meet Cancelled

Saturday’s XC Meet at Wickham park is cancelled due to the forecasted rain.

Blessing of the (Stuffed) Animals

Today our classes are talking about St. Francis of Assisi in honor of his Feast Day (October 4th). Pre-K and Kindergarten students also enjoyed a special blessing of their (stuffed) animals with Deacon Lee from St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish.

Afternoon Pick-up Reminder

A gentle reminder that dogs are not permitted in the dismissal areas at afternoon pickup.  This is for the general safety of everyone (including our furry friends).  Thank you for sharing this with anyone that picks up your student(s).

Theatre Club Starts Tomorrow

Thank you to everyone who RSVP’d for the theater club by last Friday’s deadline.  We had a LOT of interest, but thanks to a couple of extra parent volunteers who agreed to help out, Mr. Harris is going to take all of the students who had their paperwork in by the deadline.

Practices will start tomorrow – Wednesday, October 4th – right after school.  Per our standard policy, students attending the Theatre Club tomorrow will need to provide their homeroom teacher with A NOTE FROM HOME stating they have permission to stay after on all Theatre Club Wednesdays.

Student pick-up is promptly at 3:30pm outside the school gymnasium (please do not buzz into the breezeway – wait until Mr. Harris opens the gym doors and dismisses your student to you).  If your child will be going to aftercare after Theatre Club, please make sure you put that in the note.

Mr. Harris will be sending out an email to all participant parents this evening.

Wednesday Bus Schedule

Starting this Wednesday (10/4) the public schools in town will start their Wednesday early dismissal schedule, which limits the number of buses available for SJS.  Please note the following regarding Wednesday (only) buses:

Bus 31 and bus 27 are not impacted at all.  Afternoon bus number and stop times are the same as all other days.

Bus 29 and 107 are combined;  Bus 32 and 134 are combined.   All parents on these 4 buses should have received an email with their student’s Wednesday stop info and a Google form to complete.

If your child is on Bus 31, 27, 29, or 107 and you didn’t receive an email for your student, please reach out to Mrs. Guenther at aguenther@saintjamesschool.net.  Please complete the Google form by tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon so we can pass details on to the teachers.

Middle School Students Attend Play: Vianney

On Friday, SJS middle school students joined their Saint Bridget peers to watch the one-man Catholic Theater production of “Vianney” based on the life of Saint John Vianney.  The play focuses on the difference that one person can make through their example of love and sacrifice.
