April 2018 HSA Happenings

1st Grade Daisy Troop

On Thursday 3/29, the SJS 1st grade Daisy Troop 10646 learned about respecting authority as part of earning a petal for their uniform. A special Thank You to Mrs. Zorger for coming in to talk to the girls about her job as principal, the rules they must follow and why it is important to respect authority.  Thank you also to our Junior helpers Madeline and Samantha (4th grade).
A special thank you gift of Girl Scout cookies were given to Mrs. Zorger, Mrs. Sager, Miss Labowski and Mrs. Alexander for all of their support and accommodation of our Troop during this school year.

 

Hats Off Reading Contest Ends Tomorrow

No School Friday & Holy Weekend Schedule

As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow in observance of Good Friday.  On behalf of all of us at Saint James School and Saint James Parish, we wish you a most happy and holy Easter weekend.  May the Lord bless you and your family as we honor that Christ died for us, was buried, and is risen.

New SJS Soccer Update & Coupon

SJS Soccer games for the middle school teams are currently scheduled to start on April 7th with the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teams expected to start the following week.

We just received notification (3/29), however, that all fields are “until further notice” and will be evaluated next week. That means no soccer practice Wednesday April 4 and we will need to wait to see if games for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades can be played on April 7.

Yesterday’s Book & Art Club

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Dr. Seuss Book & Art Club this month, Mrs. Sabatella and Mrs. Carpenter hosted a second session yesterday.  Here are some cute pictures of the kids and the 8th grade volunteers who helped with the group.

Important Parking Reminder

Important Reminder:  Please remember there should be no cars parked in the Staff Parking Lot between the main school and the Pre-Kindergarten facility between the hours of 8:15am and 1:45pm (except for teachers using the few marked spots before the dumpsters).   If you need to come into the school during school hours, please park against the curb in front of the Pre-Kindergarten.  Our students use the lot during recess and other times throughout the day.  Thank you for your understanding.

Munson’s Pick-Up TODAY

Munson’s Chocolates orders are available for pick up today (3/28).  Great care was taken to sort, check and double check all orders but we ask that you please check your order as well.  If there are any errors, please contact Megan Hunt (meganhunt727@gmail.com) immediately so any issues can be resolved before Easter.  Thank you!

Lenten “Rice Bowls” Due Tomorrow
