Hit, Pitch, Run Contest
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolThe Knights of Columbus Council 1155 in Manchester is sponsoring its 3rd annual Hit, Pitch, & Run event to be held at Illing Middle School on May 5th from 1 to 5 PM. Registration is from 1 to 1:30 PM. The competition is open to boys and girls aged 7 through 14. Winners for Pitching, Hitting & Running and the All-Around winner will advance to the next sectional level of competition with the potential final winners advancing to team championships at MLB ballparks and to National Finals at the 2017 MLB All-Star week.

Eucharistic Adoration @ Saint James Church
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolEucharistic Adoration is now being held on the First Friday of each month (excluding July/August) at Saint James Church (beginning today) from 1:00pm – 8:00pm. Eucharistic Adoration is our acknowledgement that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Each hour you spend with Jesus will deepen His Divine Peace in your heart. If you would like to sign up (at least 2 adorers required each hour), call Nancy Ecabert, 860-646-4325. You are not committed to the same hour each month, and you can sign up for a different hour each month or even 25 or 30 minutes.
Coding Robots Joining SJS
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolAfter April break, students in 1st – 4th grade will begin working with the “Dot” & “Dash” coding robots. The school has purchased 8 sets of robots, and the related coding applications for the classroom iPads. Teachers have been spending time with these new “friends” getting ready to roll them out to the students. Here is a video of the sneak peak that Mrs. Moran’s class got this afternoon:
SJS Soccer Update
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolThe SJS Soccer season has a “tentative” start date of April 14. This is dependent on the weather and enough players being available during vacation. Communication may be a little difficult during vacation week so information on you child’s games will probably come directly from the team coaches. The coaches will ask you if your child will be available to play on April 14.
Given the weather tomorrow it was a good idea to postpone this weeks games. The long term weather looks good for next Saturday but a decision will probably not be made until Tuesday or Wednesday. /in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolThere will be a school-wide Mass tomorrow morning at 9:15am at Saint James Church. As always, parents are welcome to attend (please sit in the back few pews).
Please note, students that have gym tomorrow should come to school in their REGULAR uniform. Gym uniforms may be brought to change into if they will be having Gym.
