After a slow start to last night’s game, the SAINT JAMES GIRLS VARSITY team took at early 6-0 lead and never looked back, defeating St. Tims by 20 points. The first ½ was uninspired. Nevertheless, SAINT JAMES took a 8-5 lead into the halftime break. After scoring 16 consecutive points to start the third (utilizing our full court press ), Saint James rolled into the final period up by 19. Shea led the team with 12 points followed by Jillian’s 10 and Allie’s 4. Shannon and Kaitlyn each added a hoop while Faith hit a free throw to round out the scoring. Sammy led the team with some sharp passing had 4 assists while Allie, Shea, Jillian and Angie had 1 per.
Defensively, Alyssa continued her strong inside play ripping down 9 rebounds. Meanwhile, Jillian used her offensive rebounding skill to create multiple baskets on put-backs (Jillian had 9 offensive rebounds ….10 total boards for the game ). Angie collected 5 boards while Sammy and Shea each had 5 from the guard position. Gabby, Kaitlyn and Faith all grabbed 3 boards while Sarah had 1 to go with 1 steal. Shea continued her thievery, stealing the ball 9 times from St. Tims. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn and Angie had 3 each. Shannon, Allie, Alyssa and Emma had 2 steals each while Gabby, Faith, Sammy each had 1.
Varsity Girls Season record: 10-0
Tonight the Girls will play Corpus Christi at Corpus starting at 6:00pm.

Fun Friday at Aftercare

Each Friday is a different themed activity that students of all ages can enjoy! (Families must be registered with the Aftercare program before their student(s) can participate.)

Free Throw Contest at SJS

Registration is at 11:00am and contest is between 11:30am and 2:00pm. Entrants must be accompanied by an adult. You can download the registration form HERE.
Box Tops Contest Dress Down Winners

The teachers will let the students know when there dress down day will be. Our volunteers counted 2,075 total Box Tops yesterday, with is over $200 for our school. Please keep sending your box tops! We will be counting again for the next dress down contest on March 5th.

Health Reminder
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James School‘Tis the season for severe colds, fevers, and the dreaded flu.
As a reminder, please be respectful to your child’s teacher and fellow classmates by keeping your child home if they have a fever or are experiencing other signs of illness. The CDC recommends that adults or children stay home from work or school at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever and are not taking fever-reducing drugs (i.e., Tylenol, Motrin, etc.).
