Geologist Shares His Expertise with SJS Elementary Students
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolToday our Kindergarten – 4th grade students took turns listening to a special presentation by local hydrogeologist, Paul Martell. Mr. Martell talked about different types of minerals and stones (including discussing the Red Rock from the Buckland area where dinosaur bones have been found) and showed many different specimens from his vast collection. Mr. Martell has been involved with the Manchester Gem and Mineral Club, which meets at the Lutz, and was very enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge with our students today. The students even received a small quartz crystal to bring home.
