The Saint James School Board’s Catholic Identity Committee has prepared a special activity kit for families to use during Lent. The activity focuses on prayer, fasting, and good works.
Kits will contains three charts, each of which provides several specific practices which you and your family can observe. At the beginning of Lent, you and your children can prepare the kit for use by cutting along the lines of each chart to produce a total of 45 suggested actions. Put the 45 cards (in random order) into the bag provided. Each evening during Lent, have one child reach into the bag and blindly select one of the cards.
On the following day, every member of the family will attempt to put that suggestion into practice. If you choose to do so, you may discuss ways in which you attempted to act upon the prior day’s suggestion.
A huge Thank You to the members of the Catholic Identity Committee – Mrs. LaMarche, Mrs. Camposeo, Mrs. Modugno, and Mrs. LaFontana – for coordinating this great activity for our families to enjoy!
Monday: Special Dress Down Day
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolIn honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America, this coming Monday (March 7th), students (and staff) are invited to come to school dressed as their favorite book character (shirts that have images of book characters are also fine). Please note, this does not have to be Dr. Seuss related, it can be a character from any book. Students who don’t wish to dress as a storybook character on Monday should come to school in their standard uniform attire.
