In honor of the 105th anniversary of the Mother of God appearing to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima is currently on tour throughout the United States. Hundreds of favors and graces, including cures and conversions, are associated with the image.
This Holy statue will be on display at St. James Church on Friday, November 4th from 8:00am – 8:30pm. All families are invited to come hear the story of Fatima and experience the presence of Our Lady. The initial procession with the statue will take place at 8:00am. At 6:30pm the statue’s custodian will give a special lecture for the parish community.
We are excited to share that Saint James School’s 5th – 8th grade students will also take part in this special day from 10:00am – 11:00am. Several students will be chosen to process in and place roses in a vase at the statue’s feet. Immediately following, the statue’s custodian will give a short lecture for students and others in attendance. The hour will conclude with everyone praying the Rosary.
