Amazing Hero Art Assembly
This morning Saint James School K-8 students enjoyed an inspiring assembly with Artist-Extraordinaire, Rob Surette. Rob is a Top-Tier Master Fine Artist for Disney and other internationally-known organizations such as Marvel, DreamWorks, and DC Comics. In addition to showcasing his amazing artistic talent, Mr. Surette shared his beautiful and inspiring messages of positivity, perseverance, and using your God-given talents to make a difference.
SJS Summer Camp Program
We are excited to announce the return of our 6-week Summer Camp Program for students that will be part of *Saint James School's Pre-K4 - 4th Grade* program this coming Fall.
Boys 4th & 5th Basketball
Our 4th & 5th Grade Boys Intramural Basketball program wrapped up this past weekend with playoffs and a pizza party for players and their families. Congratulations to the SJS Blue team for taking 1st place this season, followed by SJS Red, SJS White, and the St. Bridget School team.
5th Grade Famous Person Reports
Last week SJS 5th graders handed in the final copy of their research report on a famous person along with conducting an oral presentation (in character) to their classmates. After each presentation, audience members were able to pose questions. Awesome job Sabers!!
Celebrating Read Across America
Today we celebrated Read Across America with special reading activities and a story-book character dress-up day for student in grades K-4.
Grade 4 Presidents Reports
Today our 4th graders completed their project on an assigned U.S. President, giving an oral presentation to their classmates along with a Google Slides presentation. Adding to the fun was the "Secret Service detail" announcing each President's arrival in the morning and escorting the 4th graders around throughout the school day.
Ash Wednesday
This morning SJS K-8 students observed Ash Wednesday with a special prayer service in the school gymnasium. Special thanks to Father Jaime and our wonderful 6th grade readers for leading us in prayer.
Varsity Basketball Teams Play at ECHS
Another fun night for our varsity basketball teams on Thursday evening as our Sabers played sister school Saint Bridget at East Catholic High School.
Basketball "Senior" Night
We had a fun night celebrating our 8th grade varsity basketball players last night during our annual "senior night" games. Both the boys and girls teams brought home a win last night versus St. John Paul II of Middletown.
Interactive African Drum & Dance Performance
This morning our Pre-K3 through Grade 8 students enjoyed a fun, interactive African drum and dance performance with our own Mr. Carter (known professionally as Brother Al) and his friend, dancer Patricia Grant.
Congratulations Hand Writing Winners!
Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Saint James School Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest (for Kindergarten – 5th grade). The 1st place winners will now be submitted to the State level:
Owl Pellets
SJS 3rd graders have been learning about small animals and habitats as part of their science lessons. Today students dissected (sanitized) owl “pellets,” as part of their lessons on owls and what they eat. Third graders are also currently working on their small animal research reports.
Pre-K4 Big School Fun
Today our Pre-K4 students had a blast playing in the "big school" gymnasium! While they were at the K-8 school, our 4-year-olds also enjoyed a special story-time in the "big school" library with Mrs. Tierney.

The 100th Day of School of our 100th year of educating students at SJS is a pretty special milestone!
Collection for Little Sisters of the Poor
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Catholic Schools Week Collection for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The Sisters who came by to collect items were so grateful for the wonderful generosity of our school community!
Blue & Gold Pep Rally
We closed out Catholic Schools Week on Friday with a blue & gold spirit day and fun afternoon pep rally, organized by the SJS Student Council. Go Sabers!
Field Trip to Kindergarten
This morning our Pre-K4 students enjoyed a visit to the "Big School" to see what Kindergarten is like! Our Kindergarten students were so excited to be buddies to their younger peers!
Catholic Schools Week Mass
This morning we had a wonderful Mass with Father Marcin and Father Jaime to honor our volunteers and celebrate the special community we share here at Saint James School.
