Congrats to our State Science Fair Winners!

Saint James School would like to extend a huge congratulations to our 7th grade students who participated in the State Science Fair last week.

As you may recall, all 7th graders showcased a project at the SJS Science Fair at the end of January.  Five groups from were selected to apply to the State level competition.  All five of our nominees were selected to present their research at the State level (at Quinnipiac University) last week.  These projects were as follows:

What Material Creates the Most Static Electricity – Ryan Chacaga & David LaMonica
The Bernoulli Effect – Carson Herr & Andrew Burnham
I’m Dying to Find Out – Marion Patsalides & Shreya Senthil
What Makes Ice Melt Faster – Holden Riley & Ben Blackwell
Effects of Different Chemicals to Remove Stains on Clothing – Isabel Taclawan & Annabelle Krueger

All five of our groups, under the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Plante, did a great job.  And, two of our 5 groups were called back for finalist interviews and received medals for their projects:  Marion and Shreya – who were also nominated for the Petit Family Foundation Women in Science Leadership Award; and Drew and Carson.  Way to Go SABERS!!
