Attached please find the RSVP Form for the upcoming Father/Daughter Dance (for Pre-K – Grade 8). Please send RSVP forms and ticket payment to the SJS Main office by Tuesday, May 17th.
SJS Summer Program
If your child/ren will be using the SJS summer program, please note that the first payment will be withdrawn on June 3rd. If you will be making any changes to the weeks your child(ren) will attend, please give that information to Ms. Jean (jburdick@saintjamesschool.net) by May 18th.
There are still spots left in the program if you have not yet signed up.
Auction/Raffle Fundraiser THANK YOU
Saint James School would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the families and organizations that participated in our 2022 Auction & Raffle Fundraiser. We were blown away by the generosity of our school community and in the end, we raised over $25,000 for our school! The breakdown was as follows:
Raffle Baskets – 8,010 tickets sold and a total raised of $6,360!
Auction – $16,852
Sponsorships – $2,100
Raffle basket winners have all been contacted. Thank you to the SJS Staff members that were recruited today to pull the tickets for us. Winners should coordinate with Amy Guenther (aguenther@saintjamesschool.net) on a time to pick-up their items (some items can be sent home with students if requested).
School Nurse Announcement
We recently shared that our school nurse, Mrs. Vignati, will be retiring from SJS at the end of this year after 16 years of service to our school community. With her retirement, we are pleased to welcome into the position of Saint James School Nurse – Mrs. Kathryn Pennington.
Mrs. Pennington, who is herself a graduate of Saint James School, has been in nursing since 2004, working in a hospital setting as a psychiatric nurse before transitioning to a school nurse position (at an alternative school) approximately 7 years ago. Mrs. Pennington has two daughters – Rylie, a 3rd grader here at Saint James School, and 9 month old Morgan Grace. As part of the transition process, Mrs. Pennington will be visiting the various classrooms in the weeks ahead to introduce herself to our students.
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Pennington to the Saint James School staff!

SJS Raffle Drawing to be Held Tomorrow
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Raffle portion of our SJS Spring Auction & Raffle Fundraiser. We are currently in the process of generating the tickets and sorting them according to each family’s request. Tomorrow (Friday, 5/13) during the school day will be pulling the tickets and winners will be contacted late tomorrow afternoon to arrange pick-up.

Auction Closes this Evening!
Thank you to everyone who has participated in our SJS online auction thus far! We are very grateful for the support as all funds raised will directly benefit our school. The auction will close at 7:00pm this evening, however some items MAY remain open for up to 30 additional minutes if a last-minute bid is placed (to give other bidders a chance to respond).
Please note you will need to create an account (just your name and email) to bid.
Winning bidders will receive an email at the end of the auction notifying them that they won. Please send cash or a check made out to Saint James School for the winning amount in an envelope on Friday or Monday. Envelopes can be addressed to the SJS Main Office/Attention Auction Committee. Amy Guenther will be coordinating the distribution of prizes to winners once payment is received (aguenther@saintjamesschool.net).
Important: Grade 6 Parents
The State of Connecticut requires every 6th grade student to have a current physical assessment on file in their school health records before entering Grade 7. If your child is in 6th grade and you have not yet turned in your child’s updated blue physical form within the past few months, please reach out to Mrs. Vignati (our school nurse) as soon as possible.

The Saint James School Father/Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 6:00pm at Saint James School. An informational flyer and RSVP form will be sent out via email shortly.
