Tomorrow: $1.00 “Rock Your Socks” Day

Saint James School is pleased to share that our school library has been gifted several books about Down Syndrome by the Down Syndrome Association of Connecticut.  Their book donation program is designed to better educate local children about Down Syndrome and help raise awareness.  Mrs. Tierney will be sharing age-appropriate information and stories with her classes next week during their library.  SJS was nominated to receive the book donation by the Hanson family, whose oldest daughter Abigail attends our middle school.

To support the organization that gifted us the books and help them further their mission, we would like to invite all students and staff to wear ‘Mismatched Socks’ to school tomorrow – Tuesday, March 21st – for a minimum $1.00 donation.  Money collected will be donated to the Down Syndrome Association of Connecticut.

Hot Lunch Update

We have been notified by the town of Manchester that the state’s extension of the Free Hot Lunch Program WILL apply to Saint James School for the remainder of this school year.  We do anticipate that there will be a charge for hot lunch purchases NEXT YEAR so if you have already put money in your child’s account (since we were originally notified the free lunch program was ending) please allow that to carry forward to next year.

For any families whose child is graduating or not returning to SJS, if you have already put money in their hot lunch account, please reach out to Mrs. Guenther in June regarding the refunding of that money from the town.
