Overdue Balances

Mrs. Kanute has received notification that many families still owe balances for hot lunch.  This  impacts our school financially because Saint James is responsible for paying that money to the town.  Any family that still owes a balance on the last day of school (for hot lunch, lost library books, missing sports uniforms, etc.) will not receive their child(ren)’s report card(s) until their balance is paid.

SJS Email Address Update

In an effort to better help you direct your communications and questions, we have implemented a new email address, mainoffice@saintjamesschool.net.  The  new “Main Office” email address will be checked by Mrs. Delsignore and should be used for admissions applications, registrations, all student record requests and absentee notifications.  Any personal and confidential information should be directed to the Main Office email address.

Info@saintjamesschool.net will continue to be monitored by our Director of Advancement to help manage pre-registration inquiries, open house communications and general questions.  Please take a moment to note this new address for the Saint James School main office – mainoffice@saintjamesschool.net.

Otis Street

Mrs. Kanute would like to remind parents they are not to block driveways on Otis Street OR turn around in residents’ driveways during drop-off (or other times of the day).  We received a complaint from a very upset Otis Street resident this morning about her driveway being blocked by a car during drop-off and Saint James parents using her driveway to turn around.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Note to Parents Regarding Phone Calls for Early Dismissals

The office has been receiving many calls from parents between the hours of 1:00-1:45 P.M. to have their child/ren dismissed earlier than at the end of the school day.  This not only causes confusion but  interrupts the classroom and lesson being taught as we pass along the message to the teacher and then the child gathers his/her belongings.  While a 1:45 dismissal may not seem to be a big deal, teachers are still in the middle of teaching at that point.

If you know your child needs to be dismissed early, please send in a note in the morning with your child or phone the office before 9:00 A.M. with a message if a note is forgotten.  While we realize that emergencies do occur, please make every effort to make plans with your child/ren in the morning.

Also, please try to make appointments for after school hours so they are not missing the last 15-25 minutes of the day.  Picking up your child/ren early means that they miss instructional time, organizing their books and homework to be brought home, and is an interruption to the lesson being taught by the teacher.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Last Day For Surveys

Please note, today is the LAST DAY to take the parent/student/alumni feedback survey(s) for Saint James School.   Only about 30% of our current school families have taken the survey so far, which is definitely less than we had hoped for. If you have not already taken the survey (and/or had your student(s) take the survey) please take a few moments to do so today.  Not only is your opinion extremely important to us, but your feedback is very important as we prepare for the NEASC reaccreditation process.   If you have a child that is an alum (years 2010 through 2013), please make sure they take the alumni survey.  If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail us at info@saintjamesschool.net.  Thank you again for your time and commitment to our school.
