Student Helpers Needed – SJS Children’s Masses

Thank you to everyone who responded to our request a few weeks ago for students in Grades 3 – 8 to participate in Sunday Mass at St. James Church.  This is a great chance for our church parishioners – many of whom very generously support our school – to see the some of the wonderful students they are investing in.

We have our student readers all scheduled, but are still in need of Gift Bearers & Greeters for many of the masses.  Please take a look at the dates below and let us know if your child is able to help out in either capacity (you do not need to be a parishioner at St. James Church to have your child help/attend).

All Children’s Masses are at 9:00 am the 2nd Sunday of each month through June and are listed below:

September 10, 2017
October 8, 2017
November 12, 2017
December 10, 2017
January 14, 2018
February 11, 2018
March 11, 2017
April 8, 2018
May 13, 2018
June 10, 2018

If you are interested, please send an email to Cindy Herr at cndherr@cox.net listing the parent’s name, student’s name, participation preference, and Mass dates that you are available to attend.

Thank you for your consideration!

Volunteer Questionnaire 2017-2018

Please take a few moments to complete our 2017-2018 School Year Volunteer Questionnaire to let us know what volunteer opportunities interest you at SJS.  Please note, we currently do not have any volunteers to spearhead our DRAMA CLUB nor our CHESS CLUB.  These groups cannot run without a lead volunteer. Please contact Mrs. Zorger directly if you are willing to spearhead either of these groups for our school.

Family Dance Party Fun!

Thank you to all the families who came out to kick off the year at the Family Dance Party.  There were delicious treats provided by the Baking Committee, fun dances led by DJ-mom Mrs. Cattanach and student helpers, Abby Ray and Lauren Toomey, and a special visit from Sammy the Saber!  A special thank you to Mrs. Poth and Mrs. Fiereck for organizing the event, to the parent volunteers who helped out before and during the dance, and to Mrs. Zorger for escorting Sammy.  Below are a few photos (click to enlarge) sent in by Mrs. Fiereck.
