Wreath Orders Due Friday

Last call to order your Christmas Wreaths from Botticello Farms! Orders should be received in the office by Friday, December 14th to ensure you receive your vouchers for the final week of sales. Please know the vouchers have a ‘use by’ date of December 18th.

To place your coupon order, send the completed form (found here), with exact payment. Checks should be made payable to Saint James School. Return orders to the school office in an envelope marked “HSA Christmas Wreath Sale.”

This Sunday: SJS Student Mass @ St. James Church

Please join us this Sunday, December 9th at 9:00am at Saint James Church for our special SJS Mass.  Saint James School students will be serving as readers, ushers, and gift bearers and our Choir will be singing.  A reception will follow in the lower church where our students’ prize-winning szopka will be on display.

All Saint James School families are welcome regardless of faith or home church.  We hope to see you there!

Christmas Store Volunteers Still Needed!

The SJS Christmas store is around the corner!  We will need volunteers to help run the store and clean up afterwards on Dec 12th. If you are interested in volunteering please email Christine Strickland at christinepesola@hotmail.com. Please remember you must have VIRTUS training and have a completed background check to volunteer for this event.

Pick-up on Friday

Please remember that tomorrow – Friday, December 7th – is a 12:05pm dismissal day and the school will be closing immediately following dismissal (no aftercare).   Please ensure you are here promptly at 12:00pmfor pick-up (if your student/s are not taking the bus home).

Christmas Concert Tonight

As a reminder, this evening – December 5th – is the annual Saint James School Christmas Concert featuring the Saint James School bands and Choir as well as performances by our 1st and 4th grade students.

The students put on a great performance earlier today for our students and staff to get ready for the performance this evening for parents, families, and other friends of the school who wish to attend (there is no charge and all are welcome)!

 

Performer Arrival Times & Attire

Band:
Band students should arrive at the school cafeteria between 6:00pm-6:15pm  (parents who volunteered to help dress should arrive a bit earlier).  Evening concert attire for band students is a white dress shirt and black dress pants (or black skirt for girls – skirts must be knee length or longer).  Red bow ties and cummerbunds will be given to the students to wear when they arrive.  Any alumni and parents who play wind instruments are welcome to sit in the advanced band.  Please contact Mr. Corcoran if you wish to perform.

Choir:
Attire for members of the choir is Sunday Best (no jeans, shorts, or t-shirts, sneakers, flip-flops, or sandals).  Students should arrive and report to the Cafeteria between 6:00pm – 6:15pm.  If your child is in the band, they should report to Mrs. Lindemann first to get checked in and then report to Mr. Corcoran.  A detailed notice was recently sent home (via “kid mail”) to choir parents from Mrs. Lindemann.
 
4th Grade:
All 4th grade students should arrive between 6:00pm-6:15pm and report to the cafeteria;  A notice regarding attire for the evening performance was previously sent home by the teachers.  At the end of the concert, students will be walked back to the gym for dismissal.

1st Grade:
All 1st grade students should arrive between 6:00pm-6:15pm and report to the cafeteria. A notice regarding attire for the evening performance was previously sent home by the teachers.  At the end of the concert, students will be walked back to the gym for dismissal.

Aftercare Statements Available for Pickup

Aftercare statements for November are now available for pickup from Ms. Jean.

NO AFTERCARE This Friday

As a reminder,  there is NO AFTERCARE this coming Friday, December 7th, which is a 12:05pm dismissal day.  All students must be picked up at 12:05pm this coming Friday.

7th & 8th Grade Helpers Needed

The HSA is looking for students in grades 7 & 8 that would be willing to help set up the Christmas Store next Wednesday, December 12th from 7:00am – 8:00am.  Students will receive service hour credit for their help, but must be able to be dropped off at SJS at promptly 7:00am.  If your student is able to help, please email Amy Guenther at aguenther@saintjamesschool.net.
