Eucharistic Adoration @ Saint James Church

Eucharistic Adoration is now being held on the First Friday of each month (excluding July/August) at Saint James Church (beginning today) from 1:00pm – 8:00pm.  Eucharistic Adoration is our acknowledgement that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.  Each hour you spend with Jesus will deepen His Divine Peace in your heart.  If you would like to sign up (at least 2 adorers required each hour), call Nancy Ecabert, 860-646-4325.  You are not committed to the same hour each month, and you can sign up for a different hour each month or even 25 or 30 minutes.

School Mass Tomorrow

There will be a school-wide Mass tomorrow morning at 9:15am at Saint James Church.  As always, parents are welcome to attend (please sit in the back few pews).

Please note, students that have gym tomorrow should come to school in their REGULAR uniform.  Gym uniforms may be brought to change into if they will be having Gym.

Sports Banquet – Save the Date

Please save the date: the annual SJS Sports Banquet – for students that ran cross country, played JV or Varsity basketball (all girls & boys grades 6-8), or will be playing soccer this year – will be held on Tuesday, May 15th from 5:30pm – 8:00pm at the East Catholic High School cafeteria.  An informational flyer and RSVP form will be coming home soon.  (Please note, boys 4th & 5th grade basketball players already had their party and awards ceremony at the conclusion of their season).

Important Parking Reminder

Important Reminder:  Please remember there should be no cars parked in the Staff Parking Lot between the main school and the Pre-Kindergarten facility between the hours of 8:15am and 1:45pm (except for teachers using the few marked spots before the dumpsters).   If you need to come into the school during school hours, please park against the curb in front of the Pre-Kindergarten.  Our students use the lot during recess and other times throughout the day.  Thank you for your understanding.

Lenten “Rice Bowls” Due Tomorrow

As a reminder, the Lenten Rice Bowls (through Catholic Relief Services) that were sent home with your child/ren at the start of Lent, are due back to the school tomorrow.  As always, we appreciate any support your family is able to provide in our efforts to support those less fortunate during the Holidays

Please be sure to bring your checkbook or cash to the Soiree tomorrow night.   We will be taking credit cards (for the live and silent auction), however keep in mind that credit card companies do take a small percentage of the total, which means less for the school if you charge.

Also, please do not park in St. Mary’s lot.  Please use the staff lots and on-street parking.
