There will be a Lenten Prayer Service tomorrow – March 29th (Thursday) – at 7:30am in Ms. O’s middle school classroom (top floor, Room B207).
In addition, Ms. O has added a special service for the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 7:30am in her room on Friday, April 6th.

MOVIE NIGHT & GRINDER ORDERS DUE TOMORROW

We know grabbing dinner beforehand can be a challenge so we are teaming up with Mike’s Pizzeria and offering you the opportunity to pre-order grinders which will be waiting for you when you arrive at movie night. YARD GOATS GAME
The HSA invites you to attend a Yard Goats game on Sunday, April 22 at 1:05pm. If you haven’t been to a Yard Goats game, you can be assured it will be a really fun time! The Father/Son event is fast approaching! On Saturday, April 28th from 11am-1pm please come join fellow Saint James fathers, sons and special people (male) at Dave & Buster’s in Manchester. More details will be sent home with a flyer soon!
The girl’s varsity Deanery Championship basketball game will be held at Corpus Christi this evening at 6:00pm. All SJS families are welcome to come cheer on our team!
A Great Big THANK YOU to everyone who helped with the Soirée this past weekend – particularly event Chair Erin Daley and all the amazing parent volunteers who worked along side her to make this event so successful for our school!
We would especially like to thank everyone who attended the event for their generosity throughout the evening and particularly to Highland Park Market for donating the amazing food and Jen Fiereck for donating her photography services! Together we raised just over $17,000 for our school!!

A HUGE Congratulations to Saint James School’s Spelling Bee Winners who represented SJS in the Regional contest last week:
4th Grade – Will Davis;
5th Grade – Christian Tjagvad;
6th Grade – Isabel Taclawan.
Both Christian and Isabel WON the Regional Spelling Bee competition and will now move on to the State Competition later this month!
As there is no school this Friday for Good Friday, instrumental music students in Grades 6 – 8 will meet this Wednesday.
Hello SJS students and families!
A quick HSA GIVES update on our upcoming St. Baldrick’s event: the Sabers Team has raised almost $1,100! We are looking for more people to sign up to shave/buzz or just sign up and fund-raise (choose volunteer on our team page, get your own page and ask people to donate) to meet our team goal of $5,000.
Another option is to go to the team page and donate online. St. Baldrick events like ours have already raised over $16 million this year – you can easily see how a little bit from a lot of people can really make an impact!
If you can, we encourage you to come to the event on April 8th at the Hilton Mystic to cheer on our 34 (and still counting!) shavees/buzzers — the spirit of generosity and enthusiasm will certainly make your day. Head shaving starts at 2:30pm and let’s not forget the raffles! Anyone who signs up with our team and raises $10 or more, will get a St Baldrick’s wristband, a button, and some cool stickers. If you raise $50 or more you will also get a St Baldrick’s t shirt! In order to have your t shirt at the event, you need to sign up no later than Sunday, March 25th. Those who sign up after this date will still get t shirts, but they will come in after April 8th. Pediatric cancers claim the life of a child every two minutes. Join us in funding new treatments to give kids a better chance to beat this beast.
If you would like your child to receive a yearbook at the end of the school year, TOMORROW (Friday 3/23) is the deadline to order (Grades Pre-K through 7th only…all 8th grade students will automatically receive one). The price per book is $25. Payment should be made by check, made out to Saint James School.
