Book Buddies

On Friday during Book Buddies, first and forth graders worked together to make a poster for Catholic Schools Week. With the help of the first graders, forth graders wrote about the reason St. James School is so special. The first graders made some fabulous art work to go with the writing samples. These posters are hanging outside the first and forth grade classrooms. Book Buddies is a special time when students can interact with older students in their school community. It’s one of the many traditions that makes St. James School so special!  Special thanks to Mrs. Alexander for these cute pictures!

Stock Market Club

Only a few spots left!!

Saint James School has decided to participate in The SIFMA Foundation’s acclaimed Stock Market Game.  This program is an online simulation of the global capital markets that engages students in grades 6-12 in the world of economics, investing and personal finance.  SJS will be participating in the next contest which runs from Feb 4th through April 12th.  We are fortunate that 2 of our school parents who are accredited in financial services have volunteered to coach the students through this inaugural participation.  Due to the hands on nature of the game, we will need to limit the number of participants to the first 20 students (open to students in Grades 6 – 8 only) who have returned the attached paperwork and $10 club fee.  The Investment Club will meet on Tues 1/29 from after school until 4pm and then on subsequent Tuesday’s from after school until 3:30pm.  Additional information about this program is available at www.stockmarketgame.org.
